I need to get 2 new spinning reels for a couple of rods I got for Christmas. I fish tournaments so I need something that's reliable and is not extremely expensive( like around a hundred bucks) any suggestions would be great thanks.

I would suggest the Pfleuger President.  Great reel at a reasonable price.

Shimano Symetre or Saros

I posted this on another thread but as of Friday

Sahara and symetre are $20 off at gander and they ship for free.

I just grabbed a couple extra Symetre FJ's myself.  I got to look at the newer FL's and shimano removed the bearing from the right side of the reel and put in a plastic bushing.  Basically IMHO you  get a Sahara performance at Symetre Price.  I like bearings on both sides and aluminum frames.  Just me.They can keep the plastic.

They don't cast very far when the bail is closed!

I really like the abu orra sx, really smooth and relatively affordable at $100.

If you aren't in a hurry and don't need the reel right now I would take a look at what okuma has coming out in the near future. Do a Google search for Okuma RTX. They should be hitting the stores sometime soon. I have my eye on the smaller model that holds 150 yards of 8# line which for reference would be similar to a #2500 size shimano reel. The reel weighs 6.6 ounces and is right at $100 retail. I too, will be adding a few more spinning reels and this is one that has caught my eye. It has a carbon based frame and red/black looking finish. Okuma's website has the specs of the reel and a few photos.

Pflueger president. It will fish as good or better than most $100-150 spinning reels

I'll third or fourth or fifth this selection. I've got 3 of the 6920 (ultra lite models) and have had them for 4 years with no issues.

Okuma trio 30 here. Not the hs model. 3yrs strong and still smooth as butter. $75 when I bought them but are around $60 now.

I generally use Plueger supremes for my freshwater, perfectly happy with them.  Just for kicks I have been using a combo I bought for cheap for my grand son, a Daiwa tierra rod 6'6 med with a Shakespere agilty that may have cost me around $29, I've been loving it, smooth and the drag works well, how long it lasts is always a question, but at that price I don't care.

When it comes to some of my other fishing I like to up the ante a little bit, I've been eyeballing the Okuma raw 2 @ $139 +, but the round knob is a bit of a turnoff, I prefer a paddle.  The max drags on this series is quite impressive, not that I'm going to lock it down, as with any gear I don't care buy sight unseen.

I own a Pflueger President 6730 and for $60, I'm impressed because it's still silky smooth after 3 years of abuse. But I was at BPS yesterday playing around with the new Symetre and Saros, both were very nice.

If you mean 100 bucks per reel, I would look at the Pflueger Supreme or Purist. If you want little over 100 for both reels, the Pflueger President is a good choice.
