Took 2 Years

The canal behind my home was dredged out 2 years ago, it used to be full of nice bass and peacocks.  It's taken 2 years for fish to show  up again, this is the best one I've had there in 2 years. Had to shimmy down the canal, couldn't lift it out.

Awesome fish!  Must be nice living on those Florida canals and being able to just walk out back and catch fish like that.

Slowly swimming a jig and a craw trailer.  Been using a little outfit I bought for my grandson, 6'6 med 6/14 Daiwa tierra rod and a Shakespere agily 30 reel, surprisingly how well the reel works and the backbone in this rod.  The pics come nowhere near showing the fish off in it's best pose, I could have used a photographer but no neighbors around.  I didn't measure or weigh, but just by picking up the fish I know it had some nice heft to it.

I don't do it too often I like to reduce my chances of gators and mocs.  Most of the fish that can't be hoisted or "sprung up" grabbing on to the spool and just walking backwards drags them, that's what we do on the beach at the ocean with some of the bigger fish.  Everyone once in while you just can't do that, ya just gotta go down and get them.
