Personal Best, Swim Jig Bass

Never thought a little lake, more like a pond would hold a big bass! I was casting a white swim jig, I made a cast, lure hits the water and less than a couple seconds I thought I snagged a stump. Felt movement on the line and set the hook...it felt heavy. After a few seconds of fighting this bass it jumps out of the water....didn't know there were people behind me seeing it all go down. I was astonished when I landed this bass, I'm guessing 5-6 lbs. Wow, that was a few seconds of too much fun! I think what happened is the swim jig landed on top of the bass, I must have thumped the bass on the head and ticked him off to bite...well that's the fishing story I'm sticking with!

I should add, personal best in So Calif

Congrats on an awesome catch!  Im hoping for my first swim jig fish this season.

Nice bass! I fish a swim jig more often than a spinnerbait anymore, with great results. Some sort of "bluegill" is my fav

Swim jigs are the way to go I caught my personal best last year on one which is the fish in my profile picture.

Sweet, well done!

Nice fish for sure! I have a club tournament this coming Sat. and since the hydrilla is growing good I'm planning on swimming a jig along the outside edges of it. I'll post the results....hopefully!

Looks like you caught the Grand Dame of that little pond. Great job!

Nice bass, good job!

Very good. The biggest bass in Maryland Virginia come from lakes and ponds. All of my families PBS have come from two farm ponds. 4 bass over 10 lbs. I experimented with swimming a jig last spring and had an epic day on the Potomac.

NICE Fish and Congrats on the NEW PB!

Nice fish I catch alot of big bass in really small ponds. Look at the on in my avatar it went over 9# in a pond I could cast across in one direction and half way across in the other direction. I can cast to every every inch of the pond from shore.

Congrats, always fun on a jig.

Never underestimate the fish by the size of the water!! If there is good amount of bait fish, them fat gals are eating good and getting HUGE!!!! Congrats on your trophy.

Nice fish

Congrats on the new PB, great looking fish. I tried the swimming jigs for a bit last year with no joy but after doing some studying and searching I have learned I was throwing the wrong equipment in the wrong areas!!
