Can I have my reel back now???  :punch-2:

That is a seriously goodlooking piece of equipment.

Now to get a new PB on it....

Wow, that's impressive. Very nice work on that real.

Wow! Pretty! Should be a looker in the veritas!

That looks absolutely wicked.....it should be a powerhouse with that handlebar. What gear ratio

Other than the color, it's a stock Curado 200B. Original handle and 6.2:1 ratio, one of the best workhorse reels ever made.

well thanks everyone it was a fun little project. i was sitting here looking at ideas on crankbait colors and saw a reel a guy did and was like ok i know what im doing tomarrow lol. so i busted all the air bursh stuff out and went to the hobby store and got some paints. i first took the reel skins off and there was only three parts. and easy to get off too. but i started with 280 grit sand paper to get the clear coat off and then went to 400 to get to the black primer and then went over that with a 600 grit wet sand to polish it up. after that i wiped it off with alcohol to get all the dust off and once that dryed it was ready for the primer. the stuff i used was black createx and u heat cure it with a blowdrier and ur ready for the next color. i went with a bright white pearl just cus it has a bit of a glittery finish. for the clear coat i used 2 part epoxy 30 cure time and mixed in a purple glitter and then just took an old cheap throw away brush and painted it on and its self leveling so it drys smooth. after the 30 mins it was still a little tacky but was to excited to see what it looked like together  i got it a little dirty and a put a couple finger prints on it but i think its real nice just wish i would of waited a full 24 hours to put it together but now that i got it done and its all hard and  a nice finish. for some reason i had a ton of extra parts lol just kidding but ready to take it to the next level and put a black scale pattern on it for the next time and then it will be complete.

It's only $80, and how do you know how much the reel cost? Still not convinced that isn't my reel  :eyebrows:

Wow...that would look really nice on the rod in my profile pic......nice work. Did it go back together ok? Did you have to trim any epoxy off where the parts meet?

  • Super User

What kind of epoxy clear coat did u use? It looks awesome.

That reel looks sharp.

Sweet reel.  That will look great on a veritas!
