First 3 Bass Of The Season And Pb

Featured Replies

From Virginia, been out the last couple weeks even though it has stil been pretty cold in the mid 40's.  Caught my first 3 of the season, this first one I caught on a KVD sexy shad crankbait.

Edit: Other two pictures below!

Welcome to the forum, Salbass! And congrats on the catches.

Here's #2 which I caught trolling the bottom slow with a Rat-L-Trap on 10lb mono.

#3 and my personal best, I believe it was in the 5-7lb range.  Caught today right before the big snow storm.  Slowly rolled a Strike Kine white spinnerbait.

How big do you think it is?

It doesn't matter how big it is. It will only get bigger as you get older. By the time you are my age it will be a record bass. Lol

Jealous. Still too cold up here for fishing for the most part. Soon...

Congrats!  I went out this morning for about an hour and a half and got nothing.  I guess they gotta start biting sooner or later.

Nice job and no clue on the size since there is nothing to compare size to. Really who cares it is a good fish nonetheless :). I am trying to figure out why you are using your sleeve to lip the fish though.....

Congrats on your PB

Congrats on the PB! I pulled my personal best pond bass out of the water with a crankbait myself a couple weekends ago! Gotta love those shallow cranks in winter time.

Here is the original picture with my shoes in it for some perspective, size 10.5 if that helps haha.

Pretty tough to tell even with the shoes in the picture. Looks like a nice fish either way, I don't know anyone who wouldn't be happy to catch it. Just fyi if you're planning on releasing your fish you may not want to lay them on that rough concrete like that, it's really rough on their protective slime coat. Hate for you to release a nice fish like that hoping to catch her again later just to have her not make it :)

Great looking fish. Tough to tell the size from the pic but I would give you 5lbs for sure.
