Understanding Gloomis Model Numbers

Featured Replies

Quick question how do you reference gloomis's 3 model numbers (ex 894) with the corresponding rod? I understand the last number is the power of the rod but don't see what the first two are for? With brands like Dobyns, first 2 are length and 3rd is power. Am I missing something?

6"6" = 78".  2 equals two power or light action rod.

78" 2 power= 782.  2 power= medium.

And the C is for casting as opposed to S for spinning.

They are all correct.  When you go from imx to imx pro to glx etc.  the stiffness is not the same with corresponding numbers.
