I was wondering what has been the coldest water you have caught largemouth in? I went yesterday to a small lake close to home just to get the boat out and fish a little. I have a club tournament this coming Saturday and I just wanted to make sure that everything was ready to go. The water was 36 degrees and I only fished for a few hours with no luck, except for a small trout that I caught on a dt fat! The weather is going to be horrible the rest of the week so I expect to be fishing in similar water temps at this other lake. I know I am going to throw shad raps, finesse jigs, crankbaits and jerkbaits. Any help in catching these cold water bass would be greatly apreciated! Also, the one thing I did notice yesterday was I could not mark a fish! This lake is not very big only about 84 acres and I covered a great deal of it looking for fish and or bait with no success! Where did they go?

Coldest would be 34, but
with that being said I know of a guy whom goes fishing for smallies in the dead
of winter and that's when he catches the big ones,
I think his temps are in the low 30s high 20s.  We just got about a
1" of snow this weekend and I was planning on going fishing since there
has been a warming trend and then this snow hits and it’s back to the low 30s.
 For me I always look for the north/west side of the lake/pond.  Last week all the fish in a small pond where
in the northwest end of the pond in deeper water with quick access to shallow
water.  If this lake is spring fed they
could be near that, without knowing the lake and area or at least seeing a
photo it’s very hard to say were to start looking other than finding
warmer/warming water.

I caught a few 4+ lbers through the ice this year on suckers.

same thing happened to a buddy a couple months ago. 6 lber through a hole in the ice on a crappie jig.

Caught them through the ice a few times. My first one from a non warm water discharge lake this year the water temp was 40.3 degrees.

Whatever you fish, fish it slow, and then slow down.

I have two tournaments this weekend

If its that cold, with no up in temp trend, I'd look to read them deep(er) and vertical jig a silver buddy type bait. You want to make it vibrate 4 to 8 times, lifting it only a foot or two then allow to flutter on a semi slack (if there  is such a thing) line. This , much like jerkbait fishing is about the cadence, keep experimenting, until you find what works. Oh, and only wusses wear gloves...
