Probably carolina rig or drop shot to keep the bait above the weeds.

I like to fish a Texas rigged worm with my weight pegged so it isn't sliding all over the place.

Texas rigged pegged or weightless. Lift and drop or "yo yo" works well. And if there is a snag, just give it a slight rip and let it fall much like you would with a lipless crank. Thats pretty effective for me...we have a bunch of hydrilla and milfoil here.

Easily my favorite "curly tail" worm out there, I like the 10 inch version over the 7 inch too. Some people say that you will not catch as many fish with the bigger one but I would have to disagree I have seen no difference, small fish will eat the bigger worm too.

I'd fish a T-rigged Senko silver black with no weight letting it fall down into the grass.WAHMMO!

There are lots of ways to "peg" your weight. It simply means keeping the slip sinker held to the head of your worm so it doesn't slide up your line. You can use bobber stops, tooth picks and specialty stops made to peg a sinker.

I've thrown a bunch of different worm rigs in grass, be it wacky, weighted wacky, TX, pegged TX, split and drop shots.

 

Best of those are probably wacky (weightless), and TX rigs in my experience.

Wacky rigged on this.  It's as weedless as you can get.  Gamakatsu Wacky Jig Hook.  They aren't cheat at just over two bucks per hook in a three pack, but they are well worth the price.

 

Available in 1/16 ounce, 3/32 ounce and 1/8 ounce.  There is a titanium wire on each side of the hook and the eye is located where it easily sheds or slips through vegetation.

 

 

If you want something a bit different I've rigged it with grubs and best of all, the Rage Tail Menace.  The pic below has a Jackall hook.  A drop of super glue between the jig head and the bait hold it in place better than jig heads with the standard barbed shank.  You can see how the vertical shank to the eye can snag vegetation.

I use two methods

1) t-rig pegged curly tail worm or Senkos

2) split shot rig with a finesse worm

Im shocked to see more people don't use the bullets weights with the grip coil (florida style I think) I use those all the time in 3/16- 1/4oz and peg larger.

The reason I don't use those weights is because they tend to "core" the end out of the worms. It pulls the center right

out of them.

 

Once that happens there is nothing left for the weight to dig in to.

Rage Rig... Weighted hook is by far my fav way to fish worms on or over grass. Fish it SLOW like a Tx rig. Lift or slide it forward a ft or so at a time with pauses in between

What weight and size hook do you recommend?

Depends on conditions... depth and type of grass, size of the worm, amount of wind etc. 1/4 oz would be a standard. For example, 10" worm 5 to 6/0 hook and 8 inch 4 to 5/0. I use Moaner weighted hooks because they were designed around the Rage Rigging technique. The weight sits further back toward the bend of the hook for a more horizontal fall and doesn't reduce the hook bite gap. Also sheds grass more easily with the narrow weight nose and more hydro dynamic than many others.

 

On shorter baits 2 to 4/0 are my choice... Hope that helps

Wacky with a weedless hook and a light weight or no weight.

For shallow grass, it's very hard to beat a Rage-Rigged Anaconda or Recon Worm. 1/4oz 5/0 Moaner Stroker for me, too.

For me it has to be a Netbait C-Mac 7 to 15 in. worm or a Trick worm! Both weight-less or pegged with a rubber bobber stop! I have 4 rods set up with weight's and they are set with a 1/8 oz. 1/4oz. 1/2 oz  and a 3/4 or 1 oz. to punch down into the thick weeds.and for different fall rates.

 Rhino,Try the Buckeye Flick-It jig alot less $$$$$$ about half the cost  and they fish the same!
