I caught the biggest largemouth of my life the other night and forgot my scale at home.  I would like to get peoples opinion on how much she may have weighed. I caught her my first time out on my new sevylor fish hunter. In the dark of night with a 5in. plastic worm.  

 

 

Looks to me to be about 5. But then again Im using you as a reference and I have no idea how big you are

5.5 lbs.

It is a solid 5. The fish in my avatar is a 4 even. I am 6'1" and 270. The one you have looks about as long as mine but much more chunky.

next time if you have a tape measure then measure the length and girth and you can calculate it pretty close

I'd say it's at least a "Five Pounder" using the old fisherman's thumb scale.

 

 Something less than that after weighing.  

 

Fish tend to lose all kinds of weight somewhere between one's thumb and an accurate scale. 

 

Don't really know why either.

LMB weight formula is length X length X girth = weight in lbs.

Next time use your line to measure the bass; cut line to equal Lentgh ( mouth closed tip of jaw to ens of tail).

Cut another piece of line the equals the girth. Save the line and measure whenever.

I am with the group on this one. Solid 5lbr  and some ounces. Congrats on the catch.

My guess was 4.5-5lbs

the size of the grin on ur face add's a pound.

I typically guess low but my first thought when I saw that one was 6, which seems to be higher than others' guesses.

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking she was around 5.5-6lbs. so I was close to some of you on my guess.  WRB thanks for the line tip, i'll have to do that the next time I forget my scale.  If it helps any i'm 5'10 190lbs.  

Well, if you are 6'10" that fish is a solid ten pounder. If you are five foot nothing, it's a three pounder.

I am 6'2" 330 lbs, and the fish in my picture to the left was 6lbs 10oz, and was as thick as it was long. It was weighed on two scales. Both a digital handheld, and at a tournament weigh-in on that scale. It "looks" like a 4lber in my hands. So I am the last person you would want guessing. LOL

Knowing the length of my shoe, if it's a nice fish I just pace it off and use a chart weight, close enough for me.  Only time I would put a tape on fish is if I'm going to keep it and need to make sure it's legal.

Somewhere between 4.75 and 5.5 lbs.

I would say high 4s under 5lb though

My money would be a solid 5... possibly pushin 6lbs.
