So I'm reading someone's post about hook sets with braid and I'm laughing my a$& off on some of the comments like "lay the wood to them", "rip their heads off" and "cross their eyes".

I'm just over here dying and thought what other ones do you guys got? Lets hear it!

Every once in a while, I do a jumping hookset just to screw around and let the guy at the front of the boat to know I've got a fish.

No real term for it though.

There's one, There he is, or if it's a solid hookset "That's a real one". 

I always thought "swinging for the fence" was a good one

My buddy and I were fishing next thing I know he's yelling... I got.a big one!!! Nope that's a tree... dagomit..

Sometimes, just for fun, I act like I set the hook like I'm deep sea fishing. Even though its just a regular hook set.

I'm gonna see what spews out of my mouth at tomorrows tournament. Hopefully I can say something at LEAST five times!

I use "cross their eyes" every once in a while. I also take a page from Tin Cup and use "let the big dog eat." 

Far as power hook setting, we say "Gave'em the old 'Skeet Reese' hook set"

I always say "Got em" on every hookset. I don't even realize it, it just comes out.

When I fish with someone I find my self say outloud "there's one", or "got em" and its a "big one get the net".  When I am by myself I say them in my head, lol...

After a hook set i say i usually "got one" or "there he is". Terms for the actual hookset, ive always liked "cross their eyes", "whack em" and " lay the lumber"

Sometimes (a lot of times) I'll miss a fish on a hookset in which case I'll yell 'look out!' or 'duck!' because there's something with hooks on it flying through the air.
