I typically use a 3/8 oz swim jig in blue shad or grey shad. 

What are you guys throwing?  Type of trailer?  Do you go with old stand by or since you are swimming it use a twisting tail?

For me, I've been throwing a lot of the KVD swim jig (3/8), usually in bluegill or sexy shad color, and always use a baby craw, half an anaconda, or 3" of the back of a thumper as the trailer (use the cut tail feature). The other swim jigs I use are the bladed kind, like the Chatterbait, or Pure Poison, and it's usually black and blue or white with those.

Creature of habits here.

Weight: depends on conditions, 1/4 to 1/2 oz

Jig Color: white

Trailer: 5" grub white"ish" ( actually it 's pearlescent white with silver flake ).

3/8 oz Booyah swim jig.  Trailer is a swimmin senko that's shortened about an inch and a half to two inches.  Color is blue pearl with silver flake.  Take a black sharpie and color the top of the trailer.  This one is a little older, so the color is starting to bleed through the plastic.

Swimming Jigs: KaRu Poison Tail, with a grub trailer, usually a ZOOM Fat Albert Grub, single tail.  The color is Extreme Blue Gill, Blue Terror, or Crigger Craw.

Omega Custom Tackle also makes a decent swim jig.

Chatterbait:  KaRu Vibrashock, ZOOM Fat Albert Grub, single or twin tail depending on water clarity.  The color selection is the same as swimming jigs, Extreme Blue Gill, Blue Terror, or Crigger Craw.

I prefer a 5/16 - 3/8 ounce jig with a pointed nose and a vertical line tie. I prefer a green pumpkin or green pumpkin/watermelon combo with a double tail grub from Yamamoto or Kalins. When I throw a swim jig it is normally late spring around buck brush and fresh grass. I am imitating bluegills and crawdads.

I have that exact same jig, but have a YUM Money Minnow (white with black back) attached as a trailer.  It works very well for me on occasion.

I would love to tell you about my Magician Swim Jigs from Black Angel Jigs, but they never arrived and I just filed a PayPal dispute with the owner. > It's a shame too because those jigs look awesome. Next time I will order from TW instead of direct from Black Angel

If need long cast chasing shad, up to an ounce over deep open water, if I need to look like a bream, more of a standard jig color than the white used for shad imitation. 

I have found almost any trailer works...but now I will cut down a RT anaconda however, great idea and thanks.

Mostly a 1/4 oz jig with a pearl and black flake skirt paired with a curl tail grub in either smoke or a watermelon pepper. I've been fishing it just under the surface erratically over and around weeds. I like the way the pearl skirt changes colors in different light conditions. The curl tail, IMO, puts out a little vibration. If I need to make longer casts I'll switch to a 3/8 oz jig. So far so good.

I use a few that have been mentioned, more specifically the Booyah sim'n jig, but I have the most success with the KaRu Poisontail with a ZOOM Fat Albert Grub.  Comes through weeds pretty good.

I use either a Strike king Bitsy Bug or Strike King Bitsy Flip (both work well) 1/4 oz. These swim really good which was surprising to me. As for Trailers I have just started using jigs and am experimenting. I have tried zoom chunks (decent), zoom fat albert grub (excellent), Gandermountain 4 in. beavers (not my favorite), and I just picked up some Yum Wooly Hawgtails.

i throw alot of wisconsin swim jigs from dozer with either GYCB double hula grubs or kalins glubs and have had alot of success this year, its been my go to bait this year. the chartruse shad and bluegill color have been dynomite this year.

1/4 oz w/ single tail grub.

1/4oz KVD Swim Jig , in Sexy Shad, Blue Shad and Blue Gill colors with matching single tail grub trailers in 4inch, Kinami is my choice.

Hey GMAN, do you make a jig specifically for swimming?  I know you have the chatterbait type of jigs but I'm talking about what I would call a 'traditional' style of swimming jig
