If Your Even Thinking About Retractable Transom Tie-Down's Get Them!

Featured Replies

Just wanted to chime in on these things, got them installed had to buy the universal mounting bracket for my Tracker Trailer. They are great! Makes getting in and out of the water that much faster. They are always on your trailer ready to go. The first time I used these i thought what took me so long to get them.

Best Deal I found just as a heads up. $68 on TW but waited until they had one of their 15% sales so snagged them even cheaper.

Are the gears made out of stainless steel inside?

I launch in salt and brackish water many times . I like the idea though

Did these bolt right on your trailer? Or were there any modifications you had to make.

They bolt on to the trailer, right where the old straps hooked in. I needed the universal mounting kit cause mine didnt line up properly with out it. So u just have to see on ur trailer. If they dont line up out the box not end of the world, the universal mounting kit will get you where u need to be with three mounting options at 8.99 Still worth it even if you need this.

I love my Boat Buckles.  They are the greatest thing since the invention of sliced bread.

Awesome, I've been admiring these on other guys' trailers.  I found it for $55 on a trailer site I usually buy stuff off of.  I'm signing up.  I'll order the adapter if it doesn't work on the first attempt.

Just added them to my trailer, makes launching and recovery much faster.

Just put them on the trailer today.  Great purchase.  Thanks for the info.

No prob! Glad they worked out for you.

Did you end up having to use the universal mounting brackets on urs?

No it just bolted right on and the straps had a straight (unobstructed) line to the tie down hooks.  The boatbuckles are closer to the bottom of the transom than yours are.  But I think there's enough clearance to launch and retrieve the boat.

Could you post some pics of it on your Tracker trailer?  I have a 175 and would like to look into these.  Thanks!

Trapper has a picture above of his.  Not sure if his is a 175 or a 165.  I actually won't get to my boat until after the weekend, likely.  We're going away tomorrow for vacation.  Do you think it will help if mine is a 190?

Mine is a 2013 - 175.

I'll try to grab some more pics next time im out.

I'm looking to purchase these or maybe the Mini style boat buckles. Any thoughts after using these pros vs cons?

I have had the stainless standard size for about 10 years without any problems except I occasionally have to ratchet up the strap after disconnecting to launch, still worth their weight in gold, no cons that I can think off except maybe cost.......Al
