Craws

Anyone have any insight on their favorite type of craw bait??

Posted this in a similar thread a few weeks ago.....

For subtle presentations where less is more - the Powerteam Lures 3.5" Craw D'oeuvre

For in your face pure bulk - the Powerteam Lures 4.5" Conviction Craw

For a hint of action and flare - the Powerteam Lures 3.5" or 4.5" Texas Rig Jig

For pure action and flare - the Powerteam Lures 4" Diesel Craw

And lastly, for punching - the Powerteam Lures 4.5" Bully Grass Devil

And before you jump on my case for looking like a PTL homer, I am on their Pro Staff; however, I was using their products for almost a full year and switched out all of my soft plastics for their products before ever being offered the opportunity to represent them as one of four kayak Pro Staffers across the entire US.

I had the full arsenal of craws from Yum, GYCB, NetBait (my presonal fave prior to PTL), Berkley, Zoom, etc.  I tried them all and had the plastics bags to prove it until I gave them all away to various Heroes On the Water chapters and sold a few of the unopened packs.  When I believe in a product, I go all in with no holds barred.

Also, when you have success with a given product, you run with it regardless of brand.  That is the beauty of the soft plastics industry and competition - plenty of choices for everyone to try and find a brand that they have confidence in!

RAGE TAIL HANDS DOWN

I primarily fish Zoom, Rage and Netbait products.  And, every once in a while, a Chigger Craw.  I like to have choices and experiment around with different stuff.  My favorite is whatever is working the best that day.

I like the old pork rind ,just seems to look more alive(uncle josh #11)brown,black or :fishing-026:  even white.

net bait or rage craw. Berkley has some new stuff out too

I get mine hand poured from a buddy, but when all else fails and I need something off the shelf of a tackle store, it's hard to beat a Reaction Innovations Beaver!

My hands down favorite craw is the River Rock Baits Jakes Craw, it is a 3.5" bait but subtle and I either using it on my finesse jig with a 3/0 hook or a small texas rig with a 1/0 hook and 1/16oz weight but on the jig is my favorite way of using them. As for mass produced, there are 2, the Yum craw Papi for subtle action and the Strike King rage tail craw when I want a lot of action.

Rage Craws for my normal everyday jigs

Bass Assassins Pure Craw for when the bluegill are thumping my jig all day

Xcite baits chunk for my hair jigs.

Zoom uv speed craw. Berkley havoc rocket craw.

Power Team Lures Diesel Craw, Berkley Pit Boss, Rage Db craw

NetBait Paca chunk for trailers. Just getting into using the bigger baits by themselves so I cannot comment. I think a lot has to do with what is locally available. For example Rage or Zoom products litter the shelves but Lake Fork, Reaction Innovations, or Power Team are scarce.

If I can't catch them with a rage trailer it's time for me to throw something at them besides a jig.

I use Reaction Innov Sweet Beaver for punching and stand alone, and a Net Bait Paca Craw as a jig trailer.
