Recommending Lures

I have noticed a lot of "what is your favorite" threads on here lately which is usual. What I question is people saying their favorite bait is something that has been out like 3 months? Before I recommend a bait I have to caught at least 100 fish on it at least. So my question is what makes something your favorite bait?

My favorite bait is whatever they are eating NOW  . . . . . .

To see if something is my favorite bait is to determine on how much work I must put into technique, making crankbaits my favorite lure.

My favorite is a topwater frog because of the strikes you get while fishing it. Nothing gets my heart racing more than seeing a big fish just absolutely demolish your hapless frog that's scooting around on pads and algae. Not to mention the hook set really lets you give them the business haha.

For me, it has to be a proven bait, on the water, in my hands. I don't care how many fish my buddy or some guy at the local BPS caught with it. I may suggest a bait that I've recently bought that I like the action of or I've heard good things about, but it won't be on my personal "favorites" list unless it's proven itself to me.

For me it would be the bait that would catch fish in the most situations. No bait can catch them all the time, but the one that does the most is my favorite.

Kids will be kids.

Anything I have caught a 7lber on

I thought you were going a different direction when I read the thread title... I don't like telling people my favorite baits. Most of them are people I associate with and I know they either A) fish with me or B) will probably fish with me at some point meaning they will fish the same waters at some point. Usually when a buddy asks me what my favorite bait is, I'll say "Well, lately I've been using a red eye shad lipless... etc". Which is usually true - if they fish with me enough they'll figure it out.

Ha, the face is supposed to b a B ) with no space. My favorite baits range from chigger craws to chug bugs, really just depends on the time of the year. Texas rigging a chigger craw with a pegged tungsten is my go to in local ponds.
