I have all of my braid trimming needs sent to Chuck Norris and he just tears it to length.

I've posted this elsewhere, but I use bonsai pruning shears.

They are cheap, made of very good carbon steel and SHARP.  As easy to sharpen as a knife.

 

 

When those aren't around, I wrap the braid around my bicep and flex.

I bought the Rapala kit with the pliers and snips, I tell you what those snips blow cutting braid unless you have tension on the line... on everything else they are fine.
