Hey, Guys! I'm new to bassresource.com and thought I'd throw out a new thread. I bought a collection of worms off of e-bay last season, one of the bags had a 6" worm that worked great at the strip pits. However....like an idiot I threw the bag out, it may have been a culprit worm...I'm trying to identify and purchase more of them...any help is greatly appreciated!!

The worm is a 6" ringtail, the core is black (outer shell is clear) and has silver and bronze flakes.

Looks like it may be culprit.  I could probably make you that color/combo (core shot) in a 7.5 Utail if you need some.  Let me know and we can talk further.

Nope, no flat sides.

Then it's not like any Culprit I have ever seen/used. Unless it's REALLY old, I started using Cuprit worms in the late 80's and they all had a flatish side.

Looks like it was attacked by an Elaztech bait.  Its not a Culprit worm, though - base of the tail is way too short.

Any other ideas?  It was in a sealed bag with a manufactures name on it (someone I'd heard of just can't remember). 

Have you looked on the other side for the manufacturer name?

I know alot of them usually put there name on an appendage or the base of the tail.

Yep, no manufacturer on the body anywhere...I had someone else tell me they had one with the same round body, same number of segments only it had a red core...it was a Culprit brand worm.

I just checked my Culprit worms and they have the name printed on the base of the tail and have a non-ribbed side.

Not a Culprit.

It looks a lot like a Berkley Original Worm to me, but I have never seen those colors.

I'm pretty sure it's not a Culprit though.

Looks like the tail is just messed up.

Unusual color. Maybe look at some major manufacturers sites and see if they produce baits in that color.

Could be a Power Worm. They do shrivel up after time  in the air.

Like BASSclary said, if it's a Culprit, it is stamped on the tail.

The tail is very different. I am familiar with most that folks mentioned but the shape at the end of the tail is unique. I do not recall seeing this on any bait. Take a good hard look at the tail.

Could it be custom made?

Its pretty obvious to me, the tail was burned another bait. I just pulled an Elaztech fluke out of the bottom of my bag that mated with three or four other baits - results look just like the pic. Here's my best guess. Berkley went goofy with their worm colors back when, and this looks like it could be one of them. Many, many anglers complained, and wanted the old colors back. Poor sales must have told them to go back, and the new colors were fazed out. IIRC, this was late 90s, early 2000s? Anyone remember this?

Reminds me of a Mister Twister worm from the early 80's.
