How often do you guys mix and match jig trailers and jigs? Say a brown jig with a green pumpkin trailer or a green pumpkin jig with a pb&j trailer... Etc. I got this question from Felix77's topic and I'm wondering if I'm limiting myself.

The dirtier the water, the more I try to contrast the jig and trailer. It seems to work for me. Like black jig with electric blue trailer in dirty water. In clear water, I try to match.

Well I have to say I'm a little different here, I guess I'm OCD about it but my trailers have to match. I'll go so far as say a black and blue jig with a green pumpkin blue flake trailer but that's about as wild as get. Maybe I'm limiting myself here as well but that's just the way I do it.

I have simplified it down to using about 3 or 4 jig colors but only two trailer colors most of the time. Jigs I like; black, brown, and green or a combination of the 3 for most of my fishing. Trailers are GP or black but I do use 3 different styles depending on the action I am looking for. I can tell you that a brown jig with a green pumkin trailer really works around here. I am guessing because it looks like a virile crayfish that can be found in most bodies of water.

One of the lakes I fish a lot I get exponentially more bites if I fish a brown or green pumpkin jig with a black/blue trailer for some reason. Water isn't very dirty, they just seem to prefer it for some reason. 

I typically keep the trailers matching the jig.  Sometimes I do not though.  One of my favorites is a black and blue jig with a chart trailer.  This is one reason for the color alimony now.

My favorite jig color skirt is black/purple/brown combination and I use black, brown, barn red and purple trailers, changing until the bass react to whatever combination they want at that time. The 1 jig gives me 4 diffierent looks. If that doesn't work then I will try brown/green/barn red skirt with the above trailers , except green replacing black. with 2 jigs I have 8 different combinations.
