What Are Go To Lures

Featured Replies

So I'm new to bass fishing. I have been killing bass with The Red Eye Shad lipless crank and pulled in my biggest bass at 4 lbs, but the bite has slowed down and I'm not having much luck. I tried spinner baits and kvd 1.5 square bills and still no luck. What time of year is it usually best to use a jerk bait or rattle trap or crank baits and different plastics?

Ok nickjames, how you want us to tell what we recommend for you if we don't know where you are ? Down here the temps are in the 90's while the temps for our northern bass fishing brothers are barely above freezing.

I use crankbaits year round. I think of jerkbaits as more of a cold water technique.

Without knowing any details, I would have to say try a jig and trailer.

Senko always works for me when nothing else will

When the bite slows down you sometimes have to slow down as well.  The senko usually produces.  I use jigs but my preference are crappie jigs, I make my own with longer streamers.  I can swim them, jig them, fish them fast or as slow as I want.  I catch a variety of species with them, small fish as well as bigger ones like a snook, many bass over 5# too.
