savvy 735

Tatula 7:3

65# braid

I have a *** black 7'3 h with citica e6 and 65# pp

Works nice and it can bomb holly body froggys a mile!

Any rod over 7 will do in a mh and up depending on whatt kind of cover you wanna fish

Mojo bass 7' Heavy w/ Tatula 7.3:1,and 50lb 832 braid

I use a Duckett White Ice 7'3" Heavy with a Shimano Chronarch 200E7. I use 65# Power Pro braid and I have yet to find a better Frog set-up. I've pretty much come to the conclusion that their isn't one.

Hands down best frog combo ...

iRod Air 704 heavy

iRod gensis 2 754 "freds magic stick"

I personally use a 8.5.1 Shimano metanium however the Tatula type r or new Shimano curado would be great choices.

Your line is also critical get the best stuff out there my recommendation would be either 50-60lb Sunline fx2 best braid ever.

What I would suggest depends on what your price range is overall and where you would be fishing the bait.  As a do it all with price not being a factor and fishing in both open water as well as the absolute thickest of cover the one that I use is a Dobyns Champion 736c with Tatula Type-R 8.0:1 and 70lb Daiwa Samurai braid.
I was using a Curado E7 and the drag slipped A LOT on hooksets, not going to work for me.

St. Croix Mojo Bass  7' H/F and any reel that's got a strong drag will do.

Are you in the market for a setup? You are going to get bombarded with suggestions. A little bit more info on your part will be helpful. Most importantly your budget? That will either increase or decrease your options...

And... to answer your question... my main frogging outfit is a Champion 736 on a Curado I with 50lb PP

Dobyns Champion 735, Chronarch 200e7, 65# braid.

Powell Max 735 with a Citica 201E and either 50 or 65# braid. I "upgraded" the drag to Carbontex, no slip.

Last couple of years I've been using a St. Croix Mojo 7' MH "spinnerbait" rod, Lews BB1, and 40lb or 50lb Power Pro.  Good compromise for target casting smaller patches of weeds and making bomb casts on larger weed flats.  Tom

Gen 2 Revo STX, 6.4:1, this reel makes a lot of smooth drag pressure,  Falcon Cara Jason Cristie signature series frog rod, and 60lb test Sunline FX2.  This setup works

I use a Quantum Dean Rojas Frog rod which is a MH rod, with a 7.0:1 Accurist reel and 65# braid for the past few years......This year I picked up a 7' 4" Tatula Frog rod and slapped a Tatula Type R 8.1:3 reel on it with 60# Sunline FX2.....love the set up....in time my old set up could very well find its way to a new owner.
