Quick Bait Casting Reel Question.

Featured Replies

This is my first year with a BC and I've been doing pretty well. Just have one little question. What is the little knob by the front of the bait caster attached to the bar that holds the line layer?

Thanks!!!

A picture would help a lot with this question or at least what reel you're using. Sounds like you're looking at the screw that holds your sideplate and line guide carrier. Some reels have kind of a knob on top of the screw instead of a standard screw head.

I have several bait casters which are arranged similarly and yet differently. I would have to see a picture of your reel to be able to possibly answer your question.

Idk bmac31, but sure looks like that tat is causing a lil discomfort!!

Lol.. Scott

Sounds like the side plate release thumb screw.

I'm pretty sure that must be what he's talking about. Sounds just like the way my Lews Tournament is set up.

Is that the Johnny Morris reel that you had missing brakes on? Take a picture and post it for exact info.
