Well it's now on my arms stomach neck and face. Sucks pretty bad I'm doing my best not to itch it. Called the docs to get the shot but I have no insurance and it's 280 then 70 for the docs visit. More then I make in a week so I'll tuff it out and pray it don't spread south.

Good hot bath with Epsom salts and some calamine lotion then. That shouldn't be more than $10. Throw on some cheap oatmeal and put some oatmeal paste on it at night.

Thanks Scott, that is some good advice.

I have had poison ivy rashes plenty of time, it sucks, but it's tolerable. Poison oak?? Just once, and I wanted to die. Head to toe............and the burning, itching, pain, swelling, and the fever that lasted for a week were just part of it. It never comes out of the clothes that it comes in contact with, I had to burn them. The steroids did help, as it turned probably a 3 week + ordeal into 10 days of misery. I doubt you have come into contact with poison oak, there is not much of it in our area, I got into it down near the PA border, but if you did..............it's going to get worse before it gets better, bite the bullet and get the steroids.

It wasn't poison ivy it's oak. It's spread onto my ears now but the original spot seems to be getting better. I'll be back out this weekend most likely finishing work on the deer woods I'm wearing long sleeves and gloves this time.

Keep in mind that oils from your typically encountered "poison" plants can exist on clothing and cause another rash for 6 months or more. If you're putting on the same boots, tieing the laces, you're likely getting the oil on your hands all over again.

Long sleeves and pants will help but unless you have someone to undress you (lucky), you're going to contact the oils with your hands AT A MINIMUM.

Get the Tecnu, was thoroughly when you get home with COOL water and hope for the best. I still wouldn't purposely go rolling around in that mess.

That explains why it's on my hands after putting te same boots back on I wore that day. Like I said I scaled a small tree with he crap all over it so my boots are probably covered. I'm dealing with the itching fine not really itching it and I'm fine as long as it doesn't get on my junk idc I'll deal with it.

My uncle just suggested jewel weed I know where there is a bunch I looked it up also and it's supposed to help worth a shot I suppose since I'm going in the woods again this weekend to finish some stands.

I'm highley allergic to it and it's like if I look at it I get it. It is horrible! Especially when your heading to that honey hole that is tucked back in the wood's and you gotta go through the dang thicket to get to it

Yup on prednisone for the next 15 days. Said to take Benadryl to help the itching. Waited at urgent care for 3.5 hours last night just to have a doc look me head to toe then say yup poison oak 2 pills for 5 days then 1 pill for 5 days then half pill for 5 days. And sent me on my way.
