Kinda weird question but I'm just wondering if y'all clean your fingers and hands with alcohol or something after a good day of fishing?

I always clean the cuts and scrapes on my hands and fingers from handling/lipping bass with alcohol after fishing...

only disinfectant i put on is the dew from my beer mug.

I use Dial Gold.  I don't get nothing more than a good case of bass thumb from handling bass.  Alcohol sounds a bit extreme.

I keep hand sanitizer in my boat. Any time I get a scrape or cut I use it.

If fish funk was going to hurt me, I would have been dead a long time ago.

I just was my hands when I am done fishing with soap and water when i get home. Even if I get skunked I try to wash the skunk off.

Lol after getting staph infection and ring worms from wrestling I try to be a little more careful when it comes to stuff like cleaning cuts...

I'm sitting here reading this index finger on chick, thumb under chin, middle finger under noise and what do I smell, the 4.8 I caught late this afternoon. I am sure the Jim Beam will disinfect all.

I have a small squirt bottle filled with 90% rubbing alcohol I use after I get my gear in the suv. Too after catching a pike will give hands a squirt or two. Once I get home after an outing and gear put away Im in the shower getting the sweat & sunscreen off me.

I have the immune system of a cockroach after all the mess I come into contact with at work 

 

I'm super cautious about germs and stuff at work though. 

 

Fishing not so much. I clean cuts and stuff when I get home from fishing, but other than that I just rinse my hands in the water and call it good. 

I keep disenfectant on the boat but honestly rearely use it.  Now if I hook myself, or get chewed up I'll slather it on.  But I don't sanitize my hands every day after fishing no.  Now if my wife goes with me, then it's a lock.  She wont even ask if I want any, she just hands me the bottle.  I figure if it keeps her happy, then I'll slather some around on the ole' mitts.

I'd be nervous after wrestling too and being around people at work that have some strange habits...especially in restrooms where paper towels seem to last too long!!!

I only disinfect cuts.  Otherwise, I wash my hands when I get home, or before eating.

I really like the defishing soap that came in the MTB a few months ago.  My brother eats an orange or 2 and rubs the peels on his hands.  I love the smell of bass on my hands...its like napalm in the morning, the smell of victory.  Alcohol and sanitizers are for wusses.  Bacteria puts hair on your chest.

I have a friend that cut his hand between thumb and finger with braided line. He got hung up and tried to pull it loose. First he lost his thumb and finger. Next about 2 months later after IV,s and antibiotics he lost his hand. The last time I saw him at the lake he showed the mess to me, now they are taking his arm. All because he didn't clean a cut good enough. I am diabetic I take insulin and I am really cautious and you guys should be also.
