I'm looking for some 80lb braid. I'm thinking of getting Suffix Performance Braid. But I've never used it before, so what do y'all think?

#80 is for really heavy cover. Match your line to the conditions you'll be using it in. #40 is a very common size to use.

Holy cow, what are fishing for?  I use 50lb Sufix on a baitcaster with my frogs for bass on the Potomac in really, really heavy grass beds and it works fine.

It's for muskie guys. This forum is much busier than the muskie one, I figure bass guys will mess with the 60-50lb line too, close enough.

I like Sufix 832.  No issues, but I never used anything rated higher that 65 pound.

I musky fish from time to time with a few friends who are big musky fishermen. They all use Suffix 832 in 65 and 80 pound braid on their reels, with 100-120 pound fluro leaders.

I use 80# or frogging on grass mats and umbrella rigs.

The only brand I've used that high is Power Pro original, but I've used enough 832 to know that would work fine.

Though I've never used 80# braid before I think my first choice would be PP Super 8 Slick just because of the handling advantage it gives you. In my opinion it's much more limp and manageable than either regular PP or 832, especially in the higher # test ratings.

I can't say I have ever used 80lb braid.  50lb is the heaviest I ever go but I have always liked Power Pro.

I use 80# Cortland Spectron braid on my musky gear. Not sure if they even make it anymore but the amount I have wil probably last long enough for the amount of ski fishing I get around to.

80lb 832 is perfect for throwing bucktails and big spinnerbaits.

I use 130lb original Power Pro on my heaviest flathead rod and never had and issue with it unless I get snagged.
