Just got one used from FLW angler tim grein. Itll be here Monday. Anyone used them? Its my first pinnacle reel.

Which one did you get? I've got the 7.3:1, smooth little pitching reel.

I had one but for the life of me couldn't get the casting brakes dialed in. Even with dual braking, I had put the brakes up to full and tighten the cast control and even then I would get backlashes with every type of line. I wanted to love it because it was so smooth but ended up trading it off.

I hope mine was just a lemon

Im getting the opitimus not the producer.

I just received my Optimus LTE reel literally 2 days ago.  Although I haven't had a chance to try it yet, I really like the way it feels in my hand.  The finish isn't "slick".  It's more like a rubberized feel to it, which makes it easy to grip.  I think that will really come into play on rainy days and when my hands are wet.  Seems I always have problems holding onto reels with polished sideplates whenever my hands are wet, so I'm looking forward to trying out this reel.

 

I'll be writing a full review after I've had a chance to fish it for awhile.
