Lc Real California

Featured Replies

Does anyone have any input on this bait? The price is really cheap especially for a LC product, Im tempted to try one out for the price but would like to see if anyone has used em.

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the input Tom. I was shocked that the LC pointers 78 run almost as much as their swimbaits, figured they would be of some quality being made by LC.

I have the really big LC Real California swimbait.

My feelings are mixed. Sometimes it looks really good in the water and other times it just stops having any action at all.

Just looking at the bait in your hand it looks amazing.

LC makes great baits. They do not make great swimbaits. Its like they do not understand the dynamics of what makes a swimbait work. Of the swimbaits I have seen from them (2 trout and a bluegill) they are not good. Interesting that their regular baits are great but high priced and their swimbaits are weak and low priced. Although I am not a fan of the BBZ it is a much better bait then the LC and its also on the low price end.

I got one today that I bought online. If I'd seen it in person I'd have never bought it.

they started out in the $30 range, but after people started using them and sales dropped off, they now can be had at less than half of that. I had one a couple years ago, didnt like it at all, found it clunky, and sold it immediately.

Have one, don't even know where it is and don't really care to find it.  That should say it all right there.

Hm, I guess I should have made the connection that my LC hard baits are almost the same price as the Real Bluegill I just picked up. Oh well, live and learn.

Still dissapointed with my live sammy. :cry4:

I bought one of the new bluegill swimbaits. It's a really good looking bait and it has a pretty good action to it and the size is right for the gills the bass around here seem to eat. I think it's going to be a good bait. The Real Californian, not so much.

Did you get the floater or the sinker? swim it real slow and see if you still think it looks good. From the videos I have seen the floater looks OK but the sinker looked weak. My opinion though is just an opinion. If it gets you a lot of bites then its good no matter what I say. To me the bluegill is the same thing as their trout. Same design, same weighting same gaps in the joints and similar action. We will see if it produces the same.

I haven't seen a floater anywhere, I got the slow sink. I was swimming it as slow as I'd want to fish it during it's test run last week and it had a good, slow swim to it. The bass around here seem to like to cruise the weeds and flush out gills and then slam them when they try to jet out and escape, so a fast retrieve shouldn't be a bad thing either. Obviously that means jack if it doesn't catch fish but at least at $20 it won't be a big loss if it doesn't.
