Impressively light. I just played with them at the Quantum table of a local shops tent sale. 20% off and I know I'll regret not getting one in 30 size. But they had 50% off on the baitcasters so I picked up 2 Exo's. I must say the Quantum staff was the most pleasant to talk to from all the factory folks there except Gary Loomis who has to be the nicest man in the fishing industry. Edge rods now have his long lost beloved Wiebe reelseats.

I've already ordered 2 reels off my list.  I got a Conquest 200 a few weeks ago and have an Alphas SV on it's way from Japan, should be here next week.

Well as an update I pulled the trigger on the new Alphas SV 105SHL. I ordered through Japan Lure Shop yesterday, and got shipping confirmation this morning. I also bought a Tatula from Ripppin Lips and that should be here soon, too.

I'm excited to see what all the fuss is about for the SV spool!

The fact that it's 64° here in minnesota but we still have a hard water problem makes the baitmonkey's pull that much harder to resist.

I've got a JDM CI4 on the way. It was cheaper than driving to my local BPS and buying US model. Add to the list a *** I picked up for Christmas, as well as my existing arsenal of Shimano, BPS, Lews, Diawa, and Abu Garica.

I take out different reels based on what I'm in the mood for, but my Cores, Lews, and Concepts get the most use.

Im thinking that Elite 8 is a darkhorse. Ill bet it rivals the Metanium in performance. Its got a really light spool.

Now's a good timecto buy in Japan as the prices have really dropped. Unfortunately, the Evergreen rod I want isn't in stock. Hope it comes in soon before rates go back up!

Any time I've had a shipment get stuck in customs I've ended up getting hit with a duty charge.  I ordered a reel a month or so ago that was stuck in Chicago Customs for like 2 weeks.

My EMS tracking showed my reel in Chicago customs on the 16th, but then today it showed it was released. It was actually delivered today. You'll be okay.

I get around 2 shipments (not fishing items) per month from the orient, been doing this about 8 years.  Whether it's EMS or RR usually my delivery comes in about 10 days from the time it's dropped off at the their PO.  These items do get "lost", delayed and sometimes returned to sender.  I have a shipment that cleared customs March 4., have no idea where it's at.  I have had deliveries when the USPS tracking system can't locate the item.  This type of thing just happens with international shipping.

I have both the A & C and really don't notice any difference in casting distance. The C is fractionally lighter. Either is an excellent choice.

After just getting my 3rd Metanium XG I am officially D O N E!!

 

Gotta say it's a relief to be ready for the season. I was expecting them to be long gone at the prices the JDM sites are selling them for.
