From Texas....greetings I Come In Peace

Hello Bass Resource Members,

I'm new to the site and It feels great to be part of you guys. I feel confident I am surrounded by knowledge and it's great to see most questions a angler would ask have already been talked about on here. Im 22 years old and from East TX. As a small child my father would take me bluegill fishing which is one of the few memories I have of him. Not sure if that's why I fish so much. I got specifically into bass fishing about 4 years when I caught my first largemouth. It became somewhat of a obsession even though it was all bank fishing. I purchased my first boat last year and have been pretty busy keeping up with it. From maintenance to the storage unit it is in, the definition bust out another thousand is true. Even then though I would not give up bass fishing if I was blind and had no legs lol...I'm studying engineering in school so if I'm not busy with school I'm either educating myself on fishing or at the lake. Have any of you guys ever fished lake palestine? I have yet to find really good spots but then again I'm sure I still have much to learn. I'm still in the process of learning my Lowrance Elite 7 Chirp . It can get overwhelming at times anyways nice to meet you!

It is nice to see that there are still well spoken young men coming out of Texas.  I have to assume that your dad has passed.  If so, I'm sorry for that.  My dad is my best friend, and I'm 42 years old.  I've never been fising with him, but maybe I need to remedy that.  I'm new to the site as well, and I'm new to bass fishing.  I am also an engineer, and I wish you luck and fortune in the business.  I've been fising for a week, and I've caught an 8.5 lb bass (first one ever), a 2 lb and 1.5 lb bass.  I'm having a blast, and I could see a boat in the future.  I really hate buying things that depreciate and continually cost money, but I could see me doing it to feed this habit.

Welcome bro. I used to live in Corpus Christi years ago. Did a lot of speckled trout, redfish fishing. Man it was great! Really started my fishing there. Then my Dad wanted to retire in Maine and that introduced me to Mr. Bass.

Wlecome! That's a nice setup you have in your avatar! You should share it in the 'Show Your Ride' thread in the Bass Boats, Canoes and Kayaks Forum!
