Opinions For Cranking Rod?

Featured Replies

Hi guys, heading to bps tomorrow. Pretty excited, I got my 5.4:1 tatula reel today. I was thinking about the bass pro shops cranking stick, any opinions?

Phenix x10 or red crank rod.

I have one that's a couple of years old. Nice rod. I would buy another if anything happened to this one

BPS Crankin' Stick is solid, the only time I get a more expensive cranking rod is when it is a specialty deal like a finesse cranking rod or a super deep cranking rod.

I just picked up the skeet reese cranking stick for 1/2 off on TW.  I have yet to use it but it fills solid and yet sensitive at the tip. Can't wait to start throwing some shallow cranks on it.

I like the 7'MHM St. Croix rods (Mojo on up) and the Lamiglas Excel (2) 705g for my cranking (79 at TW now).  The new crankin' sticks from BPS are getting more and more expensive over the last 3 years (?) They've gone from $69.99 to $99.

I use a kistler magnesium ts "crank, rattle, and roll" and I absolutely love it

I wish Lew's or Cabela's would come out with a 7'6" MH moderate rod with a telescopic handle. The Crankin Stick is the only one I know of with the telescopic handle in the moderate action. My rod lockers won't fit a full 7'6".

My crankbait rod is the BPS crankin stick, this season will be its 5th year and still looks/feels/handles great. If the day ever comes where this rod breaks or whatever(hopefully never), that will be the day I try something different, and only because I like trying different things.

BPS crank rod is great and I wouldnt trade it for anything! GL!
