Hey guys! I just wanted to know what your favorite bait to throw for smallmouth out on Lake Erie and the great lake!

    tubes, grubs, and drop-shots are guaranteed. Jerk-baits and rattle traps as well. Spinner-bait and blade-baits at times.

     

    But if I had to pick 1, tubes will always catch you about any fish in the great lakes no problem any depth, any time of year.

    Since you asked.      Jerkbaits , you pick the flavor. I have caught smallies, largemouth, walleye, perch, steelhead, brown trout, pike, channel cats, lake trout and way to many sheephead (drum) while fishing for smallmouth with jerkbaits. You can cover depths from shallow to deep and they always get bit.

    Lots of favorites. I favor the bigger baits. Husky jerks, smithwick rogues, lucky craft pointers, meggabass 110+, duo realis, flits, and some special dd baits that I have stocked up on. I use both the deep divers & shallow divers.

    I have a box loaded with HJ14's and DHJ12's. They are popular cold water trolling baits for walleyes.
