Who's Your Pick And Why?

Featured Replies

If it has been posted already, sorry. Couldn't find it. But anyway who is your choice winner and why for the 2015 Classic?

Randy Howell.

I like the way he talked about how he can do it again. He is humble and a good guy. ;-)

Hack-Attack baby!

Top five for me...

1. Brandon Palaniuk - solely because I'm rooting for him. Good clear water fisherman.

2. Jason Christie - Might be tied for first with Palaniuk as far as the rooting factor goes . His past stats on this lake beat all.

3. Casey Ashley - he's local and he is the number one pick.

4. Greg Hackney - he's on a roll.

5. Aaron Martens - its more a less a tournament set up around his strengths.

I feel like it's Casey Ashley's tournament to lose. He always seems to do well on his local lakes too.

Paul Elias. He will do his own thing . When he gets on the fish , he knows how to boat them.

I'm prejudice and want one oh my heroes to win. Paul Elias is my Mickey Mantel .

But it will be hard to defeat the guys who show up with numerous GPS coordinates already downloaded that their team supplies them , making milk runs from one planted brushpile to the next .LOL

I'm going with Justin Lucas, solid rookie season with lots of top 10s, I think his first win will be at the classic.

Catt....

Pullin for the Hack Attack, but don't sleep on Ott Defoe. Very versitile!

Aaron Martens is my pick. He can catch them and the way this Classic will be with the weather it sets up for him

Overall

1. Aaron Martens

2. Casey Ashley

3. Cliff Pace

4. Ott Defoe

5. Edwin Evers

These are my top picks I feel like any of them could win but I am pulling for Edwin Evers, but I think Martens will win and Ashley will be big or bust

It might take the Penguin to win this year!

Brrrrr.....

My top finishers are

1) skeet reese ( seems to do well on blue back herring lakes )

2) jason christie ( has a ton of confidence and momentum the last few years )

3) jacob wheeler ( shines on the big stages )

4) randall tharp ( always a contender )

In the A bucket of the B.A.S.S. fantasy fishing contest, I had Todd Faircloth.  However, with the storm that hit the area and how cold it is going to be Friday & Saturday, I just changed it to Cliff Pace.  It just seems to me to be shaping up like the 2013 tournament at Grand Lake.  Pace has the knowledge & skill to win it and has basically spent the last 12 months focused on just this tournament, my only concern is how his lower body will hold up.  Cold weather seems to really play a number on body parts that have healed from major injuries.

I think a cold water area guy like Ike or Christie will be on top.

Casey Ashley's "Home Water Advantage" may be tempered a bit by the conditions, but I think those conditions will favor someone whose body has less wear and tear on it (in other words, young), and knowing the lake well when the rest of the field couldn't have been able to concentrate and be as productive during practice can't hurt. Not that Hartwell is a real curveball to these guys.

I know Brandon Palaniuk might not have been a popular pick if conditions were ideal, but he's another young guy and he's from Idaho. He's probably spent some time in the cold.

Having said all that, I have a feeling Aaron Martens is going to do just enough to pull this thing out. You know he wants it bad, and if this thing is a grinder where every bite counts and 45-50 lbs might win it; I think that plays right into his hands.

Hack-Attack baby!

That dude has been on a roll.  He is fishing as good as anyone out there and it would not surprise me at all to see him do well in the classic.

Ashley

Palaniuk

McClelland

Hack-Attack

palaniuk christie ike.

wow paulinik struggled.  Christie had one good day and Ike fell off Sunday.  Congrats to the home lake fella.  He was consistant and then put out a 20lb sack on Sunday.  Well deserved.
