I picked several of these rods to touch and feel at a local tackle show, the Fred Hall show, and they are light weight. For some reason I thought E6X serires was a new Gary Loomis rod offering and was surprised that Shimano makes this series in China.

Though I'll admit this might not be completely unusual, I'm a little confused Tom.

 

Is there more to this most interesting morsel of information ?

Over on American Legacy Fishing's website, it says they are "Made in USA".

I think Tom has confused the new Shimano Zodias rod introduced about the same time as the new GLoomis E6X. The Zodias is produced in China in a shimano factory with Japanese equipment & engineering.

The E6X is produced in Washington state at the original G Loomis factory.

My new DSR 820 says handcrafted in Washington state on the blank.

Yup, the G. Loomis rods are still made in Woodland, Washington. Same as they've always been.
