The Annual What Lures Are You Most Looking The Forward To Using This Year?

So, as bass season is quickly approaching (Minnesota) I just got my boat down and can't wait to get onto the lake. Although we are at 38' degrees tonight and perhaps get snow.

I made a large purchase of lures last year during the winter (really am done buying lures and rods and stuff, I have everything I need for a long time) and can't wait to get them out onto the water this spring. This year Minnesota is opening the bass season about a month early (yes!) although it's only catch and release. I have no problem with this. I just hated starting bass fishing nearly a month behind the walleye opener and missing on great fishing and beautiful weather. You basically miss out on a month of bass fishing. Now we won't be missing out on that great fishing in the spring.

Most of the lures I bought were things that I'd already used such as more Cavitrons (best buzzbait out there IMHO) and some new stuff such as a D&M Custom Baits Double Hammer Buzzbaits and Ima Roumba and Ima Skimmer. Although I can't wait to try the DM Double Buzzbait the two lures that I can't wait to try out for the first time are the Ima Skimmer and Ima Roumba. I love topwater fishing and had a lot of fun last year with buzzbaits and topwaters such as the KVD Sexy Dawg. I also got into using topwater wakebaits and they are a lot of fun also. I had good success with the Arashi wake bait and not so much luck with the Rapala Waking Minnow. The Ima Roumba is a wake bait and the Skimmer is a topwater.

So, what are the lures that you are most excited to use this year?

Just ordered a bbz 1 rat and a weedless 68 special, so I'm pumped to use those.

I'd like to try the Live Target baitball, I casted it once only but it got caught on a tree branch under water. I had to pull the entire thing out so I wouldn't lose the lure.

Every year I most look forward to throwing jigs, t-rig worms, spinnerbaits and jerkbaits.  Senko are super effective and I'm getting tired of them but they will still get thrown a lot..

This. So ready for the frog bite

I recently purchased that Crème mad daddy lipless soft crank with the weedless double hook after a friend put me to school with it the other day..MY Home made double hooked lipless cranks and even a keitech with a double hook hung from the swimbait hook  was not working as well and I actually think it was the vibrations.....I ordered 10 of the 2.5, 10 of the 3.5, and 10 of the 4.5" and they only cost $2.50 but man are they good baits.

Not as weedless as the D.O.A. Tough guy which is a hollow belly swimbait with frog hooks, is sold as a saltwater bait and basically is a soft version shaped like a bluegill and hooks like the Norman scorpion, is my best bed bait, and the 2" size is bigger than you would think, but if you ever want a true weedless crank or swimbait this is the one, although you miss a lot of fish, but I also miss a ton on the Sebile etc...

I'm ready to kill the chatter baits and rage blade, also I'm ready to throw some shaky heads and craws, but mostly the chatter bait

I plan to fish bigger swim baits and the s-waver more this year.  I need to get a biggin.

I always look forward to using topwaters more than just about any other lure.

I bought a jackall pompadour. Looking forward to summer temps to get going on that topwater strike.

MY Home made double hooked lipless cranks

Do you have pics of them?

Bbz-1 6" rainbow trout and KVD magnum 8.0 squarebills.

Got 4 and not sure will hit the water first on Saturday. The new Echo SB, Shadow Rap, Santone swim jig, and anglers choice killshot on a home brewed rig. May end up being the swim jig, since it is a new technique for me. First fish of the year would be a good way to get some confidence in something new.

Anything topwater but partial to spooks.
