I'd use the brands that paid me the most because that's how the business works. Knowledge and decisions making catch fish not tackle brands.

And the wise man speaks again. I believe Mike could explain the theory of relativity so we could all understand it. Great answer Mike.

Hootie

Daiwa for reels, Abu for rods. I used to be only a lews guy for reels until I tried the tatula out. I was blown away after the first fish. Almost all of my combos, other than my swimbait setups are a tatula on a veritas.

Shimano, G Loomis and I'm good.

^^^^^^ this.  Because this thread is just for fun, and it's what I use every fishing trip spinning and casting.  :-)

Lews Reels and Dobyn's Rods

  • loomis rods

shimano reels

ranger boats

sunline line

lucky craft hardbaits

yamamoto softbaits

gamakatsu hooks

lowrance electronics

minnkota trolling motors

Avid's and Shimano 51's or Stradic FJ's.

Shimano Aldebaran with a NRX

Dobyns rods and shimano reels. I've tried lots of different brands but prefer these brands any day

Shimano and G-loomis as many as i could have.

I tend to use all Abu Garcia setups. Why change now. Wouldn't hurt to be sponsored by Hooters. For their wings of course. ;)

You don't have to look very closely at what the pros have on deck, or listen very closely to what they say to understand the truth of what Mike said. Pros know that at long as the gear meets their minimum standards the rest is up to them. KVD could be sponsored by most tackle manufacturers. He uses Quantum, Strike King, and BPS gear because they give him the best deal. If I were a pro I would make my best deal just like the rest of them. Above a certain level gear becomes about many things including enjoyment and ego. For the pros it is the tools of the trade.

Shimano for reels and duckett, powell, or daiwa for rods(own all 3& like all 3) and power pro or Hi-seas for line.2 spinning & 5 or 6 casting set ups.

Kistler custom Z-Bones, Shimano Chronarchs, and Seaguar Tatsu.  Best setup I have ever felt.  Hate the price tag though.

Dobyns Rods (St. Croix would be a close second)

Shimano Reels

Sunline line

Same stuff I use now
