Is there any real benefit for having colored blades, such as black or white, on a buzzbait? Thanks!

Painted blades reduce flash which can be good in pressured lakes or clear water. Dark colored blades produce a larger profile. 

I fish clear water - during low light, no light & cloudy conditions, black bladed - black Megastrike Cavatron Buzzbait can do some real damage.

 

Not to mention those strikes are almost too much fun . . . Almost.

A black cavitron with a red blade was my top producing topwater bait last year. Does the blade make a difference? Who knows?! But the red blade outproduced any other color blade. 

At low light when I get strikes, I'm using a black/blue skirt, silver blade. I seriously doubt bass could distinguish the blade color from the skirt. But then, I doubt they'd give a hoot one way or the other. Middle of the day, maybe. But I never get bites on a buzzbait midday.

How about inline and colored haha? Honestly I don't think it matters.
