I'm not a member of a club yet, but I'm looking to join (I'm in Kirksville, though).  I'm guessing most would be happy to have a few girls join.  In fact in the Truman/Lake of the Ozarks area, I'm sure there are a lot of clubs, and some of them are sure to have female members.  You might start with clubs that have couples tournaments, or just email every one until you find one you like.

Had to rush to finish that post and go to work (I work nights), but what I was saying is that you might email the clubs in your area, and ask about female members.  See if one of them is willing to contact you.  Clubs with couples events are probably a good place to start, because, like you, most women who join a club want to meet other women who fish.  I'm not a member of a Bass Club, but I am a member of a Muskie Club, and they have a lot of events aimed at getting new, or potential new members involved.  I would guess Bass Clubs do the same, or would be happy to have you attend a meeting.  This gives you a good chance to check the club out, meet and talk with some of the members, and get a feel for the club.  Are the tournaments ultra-competitive, or are they, and the dinners afterward, mostly social events?  Are the women serious anglers?  Or are they working on their tan while their husband/boyfriend fishes?

Thanks. I am going to try. Now that I am done with school and can just work and enjoy life on my days off, it would be nice to meet some girls that love fishing as much as I do. It sucks trying to get girl friends to go and sitting with someone allll day that doesn't really enjoy fishing. I don't mind if they just sit and tan,,, as long as they don't whine to go home. If their in the boat that just increased my limit on a good day

Most bass clubs would allow female anglers too I would think. The club I used to fish in had a husband and wife that both fished in it. There's some Co-ed team tournaments and I know of a couple other female anglers that fish in clubs in the KC area. My wife goes with me pretty often and is pretty good at it but doesn't have the want to fish a tournament circuit.

Yeah. it is easier for guys to find fishing buddies. I mean there is a reason why there are not many females on this forum. Girls are not that interested in fishing, usually.

I want a female friend that:

-Can help get a boat on and off the trailer

-last from sunrise to sunset on the lake with out texting, talking to much about bf or husbands or kids, or worrying about 5 million reasons to go home.

-Drink beer... but not too much

-Does not make me bait her hook and take off her fish of the hook

-Is fun and funny

-And doesn't give up if she doesn't get a bite in the first hour.

I have more to add, but yeah.

My only suggestion would be to look up a group called the Lady Bass Angler Association.  There are several members here that include Keri May (the Big Guy's Better Half) and Deb Warner who fish or have fished their tournaments, and it is possible that there may be another LBAA member who lives close to you who could steer you towards the kind of club you're looking for.

It's not just girls.  I've fished with guys who spend more time whining than fishing:

"I'm cold."

"I tell you every time, I want to stay until just after dark, because that's when the best fishing is, other than first thing in the morning."

"Well then why is everybody else leaving now?  I hate loading the boat in the dark."

(thinking to myself- "They're leaving because of the whiners in their boats.")  "They were here when we got here, some of them have been out here all day."

"T___ catches lots of fish, and he doesn't stay out so late."

"T___ is on the water as the sun is rising.  If you want to come out here before sunrise next time, that's fine with me."

"...I'm cold."

If that's not bad enough, I know another guy who refuses to unhook his own fish.  He'll bait the hook, but he's got some weird thing about fish slime.

I think the hard part would be finding the female partner you are looking for. Not just for the reasons you mentioned, but because finding partners you are comfortable with in general, if it isn't someone you've known for some time, can be a challenge. Once you get that done, there are plenty of clubs or smaller circuits that use the "buddy format" around you could fish where you would be more than welcome. I have not seen all female teams, but there are plenty of females out there as part of teams. I think people would respect the heck out of an all-female team. If anyone was less than gentlemanly, that would get taken care of quickly, knowing the kind of guys I've fished with in clubs and tournaments.

I'm still trying to decide what to do next year. I'm considering just focusing on the 'Solo Pro' series so I don't have to worry about a partner, since my dad was my partner and he's kind of out of the game now. And I hate to meet some stranger and be their partner because my boat ain't all that great, and I'm not a great fisherman, but at the same time, I'm over the back of the boat thing.

Good luck.

You said a mouthful.

The biggest wussies I've fished with were men (I use the term loosely)

Apart from your photograph, I'd swear you were a guy.
