What Lures Have You Been Using To Slay The Bass Right Now

Featured Replies

Fat free Fry in chartreuse/sexy shad have been solid. It's been money, both, crashing it into cover/shallow bottoms and getting hits on the deflection and swimming it through/over suspended bass in deep water.

That color has been awesome in alewife lakes.

I just made a huge post about how the Structure Bug produced huge numbers for me, so I'll say it again -   Rage Tail Structure Bug!

  • Texas rigged Zoom trick worm watermelon red, 3/0 hook, 3/16th weight, this is my confidence bait, also the most productive.

Perch pattern shad raps and shallow runners have been very productive here.

Also Rapala skitter poppers in light brown or light green.

Do the single hooks affect the action of the lures?

Monday it was Zoom finesse worms rigged weedless wacky like my avatar and on a 1/8 oz shakey head.

8'-12' depths

Do the single hooks affect the action of the lures?

Not sure, those aren't mine, just the only pic I could find.

What colors are you throwing?

As I posted earlier I have been catching lots on Stik-O. Yesterday I broke my PB with a 18 inch 4 pound largemouth in the Lily Pads.

Depending on the lake I go to, it is either topwaters in morning and then plastics, or topwaters in morning and then jigs.  The bass are starting to turn off of crankbaits.

KVD Dream shot on a drop shot rig. Doubled my catch rate for this time of year.

Kickin butt with all sorts of topwater right now I dont even bother moving from the flats nor using any other baits unless chocolate milk rains down:

walkers

hollow frogs

buzz frogs

prop baits

Jigs

Bladed Jigs

Rage Craws

Rage Structure Bugs

Keitech Swing Impact Fats

Squarebills

Anything Finesse

Wacky rigged junebug 4 and 5" BPS stik-o worms!!

Spro frogs for me. Have averaged 25 bass a trip. And i fish at least once a week if nit twice since i moved here in november. The r8ver here in az is phenomenal. Have caught well over 600 bass this season so far mainly on frogs. Love it.

Very slow here. Lake conditions and weather threw me for a loop. I have an idea where they are, but no way to effectively reach them, with a presentation that is what they want to eat.

Been throwing hair jigs almost exclusively for the last few weeks with good results. Usually I'll lace them with a 4" Swing Impact or a Zoom Finesse Worm. Biggest fish came on a football jig tipped with a Rage Tail Craw, but I never boated it.

Soft baits in green with purple flake and gold are working well now. T-rig or drop shot. Mardi Gras or Candy Craw type.

good ol' Rattlin' Rapala silver/gold

I've always had good luck with any kind of frog in the morning and evening otherwise been loving the biospawn exostik on a shake head or t-rigged and vilecraw T- rigged. I was in wiaconsin and had better luck fishing square bills though. The smallies loved them.

We're in an early summer pattern right now, when plastic worms begin stealing the show.

We're not slaying'em, but our best producers are Mag UV worms, 6" stick worms and Mag Tricks.

Bento minnows on t-rig or drop shot

Uptons Dragontails in Diamond Craw on swing head

Frog

Glide baits.

Chatterbait in a local reservoir with muddy water and a lot of vegetation has been lights out for me the past 3 weeks.

Triple Trouts, 175's, and S-Songs. Lots of big fish lately. Been doing big work on Erie large mouths. The eyes like them too.

Bass fishing has been slow here after all the crazy weather, so I've been fishing for other species most of the past 10 days or so.

What I actually have been catching Smallies on lately though are spinnerbaits with single colorado blades.  I've had to scale way back in size, even for me (1/16oz).
