Best Lipless Crank For 5 Bucks Or Less?

Featured Replies

From what I've seen, an angler can spend $30.00 or more on a lipless crankbait (rattle trap style)  The bait monkey is strong, but not THAT strong.   What's everyone's favorite lipless cranker for 3, 4, maybe 5 bucks?  Strike king red eye shad is about 6 bucks which is nice but still a little expensive when you want to buy 8 or 10 of them.  Any one have any great experiences fishing a good yet inexpensive lipless crank?  Bluegill is the main forage in many of the ponds and lakes I fish.  Thanks!

I've done well with the H20 lipless baits from Academy.  You can find them in the $3-$5 range.

I just get them on ebay for about $2 a piece. Works all the same to me. In fact I just bought a lot of 12 the other day for $25 and free shipping.

These lipless baits from academy are just plain out awesome at a great price, pretty much all their hardbaits are freaking awesome. Their squarebills are great too

Yup - the Academy brand H2O XPress are good, too.

X6. My LMB 9.5 PB was caught on an Academy H2O "Rattlin'T" lipless crank.

Cordell Super Spot

Bass Pro Shops XPS Rattle Shad

Rat L Trap

Cotton Cordell Super Spot.  I like them about as much as the Rat-L-Traps and have caught as many fish on them

RES when they're on sale. You can almost always find fishing lures/products for less than MSRP on the internet.  I can't remember the last time I bought ANYTHING fishing related at full MSRP.  Be patient and buy when the deals are there. The only time I ever will pay full retail is if I'm in a bind and have no choice.

If and when I buy RES....i'm usually getting them in the $3.50-$4 each range.  I won't do your shopping for you, but you can find these deals to if you look hard enough and there are plenty of other members here that know that's the truth. That includes all the JDM tackle you see as well.

Yep. Nail on the head. There are some nice hardbait scores to be had in the Flea Market here from time to time.

I agree, I try not to ever pay retail for tackle.
