What would your personal choice be for one casting rod, 150$ max, of your hard earned money?

That close,I think I would get a Shimano crucial. But they run $159.00

Yes Ive read good reviews on those.

St. Croix Mojo Bass and Lews Custom Speed Sticks. Both hit under $150, are sensitive, durable, and great bang for your buck. The 6'6" M Mojo is a sick jerkbait stick, but it's also great with spooks and light-medium duty cranking. The 7'2" Lews handles 3/8-1/2 oz jigs like a pro, but it's also great with spinnerbaits and t rigs.

I'm a bang for your buck fisherman. I rarely spend over $200 on any reel or rod and these are my favorite all around sticks. They'll give you just as much edge as anybody else you're fishing against (or with)  :eyebrows:

Using the search feature you can find a lot of past info on this subject.

Based on persona experience I'd consider

- St Croix Rage currently clearance on St Croixs Bargain for 89 each. I've not used the Rage but love my Avid, LTB and Leg Xtremes. I'd take the blank on the Rage over the Mojo any day of the week and twice on Sunday's. However the handle may not be comfortable for everyone.

- St Croix Avid/ Avid X on sale, I know a bit over but really top notch performance.

- Kisltler KLX on sale, again a bit over but I'm very impressed with the quality and feel of the 6'9" CRT model I got recently. They were running a great sale recently.

Based on reviews here and elsewhere:

- *** *** regularly reviewed as fishing well above its price point

- Pinnacle Perfecfta DHC5 good reviews here and look like quality sticks

- Daiwa Tatula

- Fenwick Elite Tech Bass

- Phenix M1 and Bass Recon

Good luck!

I'd probably have to buy another Mojo if I had $150 to spend.

i'd look at one of the new *** blacks.  the original *** blacks are amazing rods for $100

I agree but stick with the original. I wouldn't recommend the *** Black II yet as they have changed their blank for the *** II. I would bet the farm that their new blank is more indestructible and resistant to shock loading which usually translates into worse performance.

Shimano crucial is one of the best rods ive tried. And ive tried omens

under 150.00$  Easy... OKUMA TCS

They really are great rods for the money.

Daiwa Tatula rod for sure!

if you're looking for a drop shot rod the Fenwick elite tech bass 610 medium light extra fast is a great stick

Really like my Tatula rods.  Based on my experience with HMG, Smallmouth and Aetos rods, I'd have to add the Elite Tech Bass to any list.  As others have mentioned, the *** Black is a great rod at its price point as long as the handle doesn't bother you.  A couple of the Okuma models get excellent reviews, but I've never owned or fished one.  Sure would like to try at least one.  The 7' MF Helios reviewed by TT sounds like an excellent rod.  Of course it could only be fished with a Helios or Helios Air (preferably)  reel.  :teeth:

I'd have to get my hands on a bunch more rods to

really make that decision.

Currently, I'm very happy with the sensitivity and lightness

of my Carbonlites, though I'd like some shorter lengths.

I also have an Avid, very nice build, but in all honesty, I'm not

sure it's an order of magnitude more sensitive than the CLs.

Tatula rods are nice, and the new ones intro'd at Icast look sweet.

Problem is, I want shorter rods but everyone seems to be going

longer. C'est la vie. Probably need to go custom some day

St Croix Mojo  [ 7' - med hvy - fast]    $110

Roger

I'm an admitted ***** for Shimano so take that into account with my recommendation: Crucial.

Okuma TCS can be had for $100 or so. Save $50 or spend on some new tackle. That or get a Tatula.

At this very moment I'd get a Rage rod on clearance on St Croix's website.  $89, free shipping/hat/stickers.

I would look at the Daiwa Tatula. They have great sensitivity and a ton of backbone
