So, I need some help from everybody.

I'm about to place the biggest Tackle Warehouse order yet, I'm gonna' take advantage of this 50.00 & over cheap shipping deal.

I want to order some good worms, a frog or two and a good crank. Any suggestions on things you guys always order would be great.

I'm looking at getting some dropshotting hooks as well as some good dropshot worms.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR TEXAS RIG WEIGHTS as well as good sinkers?

Any help would be great guys. I've never purchased roboworms or any of that stuff before so i'm looking forward to getting with these quality lures!

Roboworms and KVD dream shots, or just some Zoom 4.5 inch finesse worms. I'd recommend green pumpkin, maybe with a chatreuse tail. 

 

Try the VMC Spinshot hooks, I really like them. 

 

Don't know what weights you've tried, but 1/8 oz. for spinning and 1/4 oz for casting are staple trig weights for me. 

A good dropshot hook is the "Gamakatsu Drop/Split Shot Hook"

Any sinker is fine if it's the weight & material you desire.

For T-rigging, a lead or steel 'Bullet Sinker' is preferred.

 

So much for the unglamorous stuff;  plenty of bait suggestions with be forthcoming ;-)

Vikes make screw in Tungsten weights that are great for worm fishing.  Inexpensive and durable as well

My vote is to get a bunch of Keitech Swing Impact baits and a bunch of Kicker Fish Hightail Holeshot Shakey worms (various colors). A collection Booyah Blade Double Willow Spinnerbaits  3/8 # and some Strike King KVD 1.5 cranks and some Cavitron buzzbaits. If you still want to shop consider some Roboworm finess plastics. Don't forget to get some terminal tackle (Jig heads and bucktails) and some JJ's Magic. Love that free shipping!

I want to get some jigs but I don't know how to pick them with skirts. I've only bought little jigs with no skirts from BPS for my twister tails

TW has Strike King Bitsy Bug Jig  for $1.69 For that price get a selection of colors and weights. Also usually Walmart has them at about the same price. With these you can add a trailer, for example Berkley Havoc Skeet's 4" Pit Chunk 8pk for $2.99. These jigs have brush guards that make them weedless.

 

At anyrate, read the articles here on Bassresources about setting up and fishing jigs. For example you might want to trim and/or thin out the skirts and trim the weedguard.

 

Do you fish mainly for Largemouth or Smallies?

More so smallies but I fish for LM a decent amount as well.

Senkos, Fat Ikas, Keitech swimbaits, 4/0 Gammi EWG's, VMC Tungsten Bullet weights 1/8 oz and 3/16, and a Lucky Craft Flat CB in Chartreuse shad. 

Go to the most popular tab. these are the baits that really work and people repeatedly buy. The zoom trick worms and keiteck impacts are very popular. I vote against getting jigs from tw. Order from Serbert and get a good single base color skirt and change it up with the trailer. Then you only need to focus on head shape and weight.

I ordered quality jigs from SO before but I, for the life of me, can't figure out how to create great skirt colors on there without it looking like a Bill Cosby sweater. 

Also, what color do you guys pick for the bullet weights? 

Also, any suggestions on colors for the Keitech Swimbait? 

For keitechs I like bluegill flash, Tennessee shad. All the colors are pretty good just match it to the water color or forage.

You will go crazy trying to figure out optimum colors for every possible bait without trying them first. Start simple, see what works in your waters, then complexify, as needed.

 

Blacks, greens, and browns are pretty universally useful for worms and jigs. Forage patterns: what do the bass eat in your waters? craws, shad, bluegill, perch, etc. Bright colors are good for visibility in stained or murky water -- chartreuse, bright reds and oranges, bubblegum, etc. Firetiger-like patterns cover a few of these at once and thus can be a good stained water catch-all. However, I don't load up on the the "brights" until I have clear sense of where I will use them. 

 

But if a color or pattern has caught your eye and is haunting you, just get it. It will continue to haunt you anyway until you buy it, which will happen sooner or later. Who knows, it might even work.

 

Bullet weight color? Now that's really splitting hairs.

So I ordered  a "random jig pack" and was really happy with it -- I got an excellent variety of sizes, head styles and skirt colors to try out. I figured as long as I was uncertain about what I wanted, I may as well take SO's random judgment in place of my own random judgment.

You want single colors like watermelon or pumpkin no flake. Keep the jig very plain and accent with trailer.

That might be one way to do it. No absolute wrong or right of course.

 

I'd rather have a three-tone pattern on the skirt with some highlights though.

Keitech baits are responsible for getting me interested in swimbaits in general. In a recent TW order I ordered a few Spro BBZ-1 Shad Swimbait 4" which are about $20.00 each. This is no little thing as I hate to lose a lure that costs $3.00, never mind $20.00

 

But since getting my little boat last year I really haven't lost much compared to bank fishing but the overall cost of fishing now is something I really don't want to think about!
