I have a 6'8'' st. Croix casting rod. Right now it's my "everything rod" because I only only have a couple rods at the moment. So my question is: once I have obtained some other technique-specific rods, what technique could I apply my 6'8'' to? I love the rod a lot and would like to have it for throwing certain baits instead of selling it, but I just am not sure what I can use it for. keep in mind it's casting, so I wouldn't want to dropshot with it. all responses are appreciated. Thanks!

If it's an Avid AVC68MXF this is THE PERFECT all-around rod. My suggestion is both

soft plastics and jigs.

That's a great rod. I have that same rod and it is truly an all around rod. Mine is technique specific for topwaters. It also works great for flukes and weightless senkos.

Nice light weight swim jig rod, too.

This would be my vote if you want to dedicate it to certain techniques but like others said it's a great all around rod to just put a medium ratio reel on with 12-15 pound copolymer and have available for whatever you need it for. 

I use it for fishing light TX Rigs and 1/4 oz jigs in clear water since I find it a little stiffer than some of my other rods.

you could skip some 1/4 jigs no problem with that rod

The St Croix rods tend to be on the strong side so soft plastic swim baits.. Try the Gambler 5"
