New Guy From Central Fl

Featured Replies

Hi guys, new to the site, and wanted to see if there was anyone in my neck of the woods on here that I could trade info with.

Little back story: I bass fished a lot as a kid here in CFL on a friend of mine's lake, and loved it. Caught some lunkers out of that lake. He moved away from there, and being a 10 year old kid, access to the water was pretty scarce. Anyway, fast forward 17 years and now I've got a house right up the street from that lake with it's own little 6 acre honey hole in the back yard. I moved in in January, and my buddy brought his pond crawler over (I had to clear a path to the water, and bank fishing is out of the question), I caught a 3 pounder that first trip out, and I was hooked again. I got my own little pond crawler, and have pulled 8 fish 5lbs or better since, with the biggest being about 8, and plenty of fish in the 1.5-3 lb range out of it. I know that I can't just fish my lake to death, so I bought a 14' jon boat, and built it out to my liking.

I'm lucky enough to own my own business, which currently is paying the bills, and also giving me the free time to fish quite a bit. Summer is my off season business wise, so I was out on the water a lot. My missus is pretty cool about me fishing, and I guess I'm lucky in that sense too. Anyway, I fished the St Johns from Lake Monroe to Lake Beresford (putting in at either Blue Springs or Highbanks), the Wekiva river, and kind of touring around CFL checking out some of the awesome lakes we have here. Winter Park Chain, Butler Chain, Harris Chain (a tough one), Lake Dias in Deland. I've got to fish private Lake Winnemesette a few times, and had the best bass fishing day of my life on one of them.

Really just looking for guys/gals that are in the area to talk fishing with.

Thanks guys, and I look forward to meeting ya'll.

Welcome! :)

Welcome to BR.

Welcome aboard.  I'm from Lake Mary.  I moved from Minnesnowta last fall and unfortunately I am shorebound until I get the wedding out of the way, so I have little info.
