  1. Thanks! I'm going to claim it.
  2. A co-worker was offering up a bunch of old un-opened seguar fluorocarbon line. It's been sitting around for about 12 years indoors. Is this ok to use? Is it more prone to break? Or would it be just like new?
  3. When I had access to a popular lake, there were five of us who would go out picking up trash after the major summer holidays. Once one of the residents saw how much trash was picked up after Labor day, she organized a lake cleanup monthly with other residents. They also should bring back the crying Indian commercial campaign!
  4. If you don't mind fishing on Wednesday's. PM me
  5. The golf course seems to be out of business, I would think about parking near the golf course entrance.
  6. Google map Marriott's Cypress Harbor Villas just south of the convention center. I've been told it is good, but have not fished there yet. I would try entering on the south side, then walk to the lakes.
  7. get hooked bait and tackle, Story rd Ocoee, FL
  8. On SR50 west of the turnpike on the way to clermont there is a boat dealership with a bait shop attached. I would ASSUME they have shiners, but never gone into the place.
  9. I moved from that area 25 years ago, but Kings Point and the canals feeding into it were excellent places to fish just south of C-14 (west end). I'm not sure how built up that area is now though.
  10. I have always done better with buzz style frogs, like the Ribbit and Ragetail. My new favorite is the Top Toad.
  11. You can check the Westgate Lakes Resort and Spa. It's located off of Big Sand lake, which imo is one the best lakes in Orlando to fish. I know they rent kayaks, but I'm not sure about other boats.
  12. Glad to see you had a good time, and coming back when it cools down a little. It's been brutal so far this summer because of the dry air keeping rain chances down. Did the Turkey Lake park have a topo map of the lake? Also, where on the lake did you fish?
  13. I believe Ivanhoe, Underhill and Turkey lake are part of Orlando's fab five lakes.
  14. That 10lber doesn't surprise me, Turkey Lake gets very little fishing pressure. I got my PB on lake Hiawassee just north of Turkey Lake. Post some pics of the boats and any catches. Good Luck!
  15. From where you are staying, fishing Underhill and Baldwin would probably be the easiest. Both are relatively close to each other, and both can be fished along the southern parts of the lake. On Baldwin you may have to fish around some brush on the bank. As far as lures go, try fogs in the evening, anything else make sure its texas rigged. If I were you I would try the boat rental at Turkey lake, I've heard of some big fish out of there.
  16. East of your location, the best for bank fishing would be Ivanhoe, Underhill, and Baldwin imo. Check out Turkey Lake park, they have morning boat rentals (you need a reservation) and I believe you can bank fish for a few bucks. Just west of where you are staying, Take 192 to 27 go south a mile or two, you will come to a ball park, in the back there is a boat ramp/dock on lake Davenport. If you go north on 27, there are a ton of lakes in the Clermont area, I'm not sure of how many are able to be bank fished. Google earth the area, you may find some docks, ramps, etc. Turkey Lake info phone 407-246-4486 email turkeylakepark@cityoforlando.net boat rental $30/4 hours 7-11am only and you need a reservation. Hope this helps.
  17. Megadeth by a nose if you compare their classic era. Megadeth by a mile if you compare anything after that! I was watching the Big 4 dvd recently and Megadeth and Anthrax were by far the best, Slayer had their moments, and Metallica were just god awful. Lars doesn't even attempt to play drums anymore, and Hetfield remind me of the singer from the biker band on the movie streets of fire.
  18. My favorites are the lucky craft and yo-zuri crankbaits. The yo-zuri flat sided cranks are especially productive.
  19. I agree with people about carrying a stick and disturbing brush ahead of you while your walking to your fishing spot. If you are fishing in late afternoon or dusk, be careful around paths, roads, or rocky areas because the snakes like to warm up before nightfall. Also be careful around any trash, which may attract it's prey. Especially with all water snake species try to avoid blocking it's exit route to the water.
  20. Going to see Maiden in a few weeks! I love when they play doctor doctor before Maiden come out.
  21. I usually fish in the Orlando area every Tues/Wed if your interested.
  22. Read the other central florida post, there is some info on there. You can also try turkey lake park, I believe they charge a few bucks to get in. They also rent boats, but you must make reservations.
  23. I'm not sure about the Sanford area, but in Orlando lake underhill and lake baldwin have some areas were you can bank fish.
  24. No team has tanked like the sixers? That's because teams like minn, orl, and cleve have had multiple years picking #1s. I know its no guarantee all #1s are locks, but it sure does help. Teams like boston, LA, and mia have benefited from free agency. As for playing time going to undrafted players, I believe injuries, and others still in europe have something to do with it. I'm not going to defend their GM, but improving to mediocrity will harm this rebuilding process more. I would rather tank than be in salary cap hell like the knicks were in for years. I'll give you a hockey example. The blackhawks sucked for years, acquired lots of very good talent picking high in the draft for years. Then they win the lottery and pick Patrick Kane and become a modern day dynasty.
  25. I'm a sixers fan as well. It has been proven in this league that you need those 1 or 2 elite players in the draft to turn around a franchise. The spurs, lakers, okc, chicago, and cleveland were all built by tanking, they just got lucky they won the lottery in a year that an elite player came out of college/H.S. As bad as they have been, they haven't had the #1 pick since Iverson. The sixers have some good young players, they just need one elite player to have a good nucleus for years. Look how many teams are stuck in mediocrity and can't really compete for a title. look how many teams have no shot to compete for free agents. Teams need to tank to compete so they can draft or trade draft picks, that is how the league is built. I believe Colangelo was brought in to ensure the lakers win the lottery.
