Cool I would go with maybe a crappie jig on on a bobber with a powerbait nibbler on it.

I have done very well for pond crappie with a Pointer 65SP or a #6 Xrap. A crappie tube on a 1/32oz ballhead a couple feet under a bobber and slowly twitched will catch a lot of them also, but the jerkbait catches by far my biggest pond crappies.

Get some 1" gulp minnows in "lumaglow" color. It's just a glow in the dark white. Rig them on a 1/64 jighead (trout magnet jigheads are the best) and fish them under the smallest float you can get away with. Pull it 1-2 feet, let the bait pendulum back down, pause, and repeat. Usually that's all it takes but if one taps it I just twitch it one or two times, then they usually eat it. I've caught crappie, bluegill, largemouth, smallmouth, trout, catfish, and all sorts of other fish doing this in the winter months.

 

You can up size jigheads if you are dealing with wind or fish greater than 6' deep.

I've always fished slider grubs on 1/32-1/8oz heads if I'm casting or skipping docks. If fish are suspended around brush or bridge pilings I tight line with a 2" straight tailed minnow style plastic on a jighead. I use a 1/4oz c-rig for my tight lining because the light weight lets me know if I'm moving too fast.

Try Bobby Garland's Baby Shads on a 1/16 oz. jig head.

In cold weather, I like the 1/16 oz. hair jigs, a guy in my state makes some of the best ones I have seen. In summer, I like the tube jigs.

roadrunner and beetlespins- they seem to catch everything else as well! 

I like to use 1/16 rooster tails, and 2" sassy shads for crappie, but they will catch anything.

Live minnow under a slip bobber is tough to beat.

I'd be throwing either a road runner, or a minnow under a bobber.

1/8 oz shad dart with a 1" gulp minnow under a bobber

Thanks for the many responses, is an UL rod with 4# mono the way to go?

I prefer a light rod instead of UL with 4 or 6 pound mono. Most UL are so whippy they won't set a hook well, even on a crappie. 

#2 panther Martin with gold blade and black body, #6 rapala xrap, and crappie or panfish magnets rigged with the crappie magnet jig head dragged on the bottom or under a float works well
