Floating Minnows

Featured Replies

Who else besides Rapala makes a floating minnow hardbait?  I'm finding mostly suspending hard jerkbaits.  Not floaters.

In addition to those that Bluebasser mentioned you have Norman lures, You-Zuri has the 3DB Minnow which is a floater and Luck-E-Strike is supposed to come out with floating version of the RC STX. I almost forgot Spro, the make the McStick 115 which is also a floating version.

Post spawn on points leading to deep water . Hit it right and you might have the day of a lifetime .

Do you use it like a jerkbait that suspends, quick jerks and pauses? Or crank it like a crank bait?

In ponds: any time. One of the all-time great pond baits.

Don't overlook the jointed version.

Sometimes I let it sit motionless . Other times I use soft twitches and sometimes twitch as fast as I can and still remain in contact with the surface . I won a club tourney burning a Floating Long A Minnow next too  stumps around spawning time . Just play around with it , you may come up with something different .
