Thanks! I was catching them pretty much in 3-10ft of water. Like I said, this fish and a few more, came off a main lake point getting hammered by the current and wind in about ~10ft of water. But I also caught some a little shallower too casting parallel to the shore from 3-10ft and pitching a jig into some flooded brush.

As for the 2k Jigs, absolutely love them. If you have any questions on them, feel free to PM me. If you go in the store, tell Dan I said hi!! I'm also going to be in Muskegon for the week (for work) so if you're in the area, let me know. I have a few I can give you if you want to try em out.

Thanks, I appreciate the offer and the info. Unfortunately I don't make it that far north for work Kent county is the area I work. I'll have to give them a try. If I have any questions I'll be in touch for sure.

Fished most of the day yesterday on Pontiac Lake.  Threw darn near everything in the boat between my fiance and I.  Only left with one pike and a sun burn.  Saw a lot of boats out but didn't see anyone catch any that I noticed.  Not sure if the water temp and the lake being way up had anything to do with it.  Long day on the water though.

I went out again yesterday, water is still quite low. Water temp ranged from 49-57 depending on what part of the lake you were fishing. Caught a few nice 4-6 pounders, Jigs, Chatterbaits, Jerkbaits, the normal prespawn stuff.

Water at Kensington is definitely on the rise. Taking a few days off (maybe just today). Went backwards over a boulder and about broke my neck. Good thing my low back broke the fall. Totally no bulging discs in there!

The hot jigs have been Siebert 1/4 oz brush jigs with Paca Chunks, Blue Bug paired with Flippin' Blue and Junebug with Bama Bug. A 3/8 oz in 24/7 with a Low Blow Beaver comes off the bench. Waiting on a little more warmth and water clarity to bring out the PBJ Rage Bugs.

I marked up a map for you of where I tend to see people fishing from shore having the most luck, now that the water is steadily going up all the bays with shore access should be better fishing. The big red circle has a bunch of different areas you can fish from shore and have seen those guys doing the best.

Has anyone noticed that a lot of the seaweed around the lake didn't die off over the winter? Last year I was dragging a football head around some of the bays, this year they are already up near the surface in some spots.

Thanks for the markup Marsh! Are those spots from that what you seen just in general or from this year specifically?

Fished after work from 430 till 730, used a black and blue 3/8oz hair jig, LC Pointer in ghost minnow, XRAP in perch, bluegill colored spinnerbait, and a red lipless crank. 4 pike and 1 bass all on the lipless crank. Stayed around the steep drop offs near the west boat launch and fished the crank pretty deep and slow.

As for your comment about weeds yeah there seems to still be a surprising amount around.

Most of those are the spots that you can access the best bass fishing water from this time of year, most of it is around shallow bays so it's the first to warm up. But typically I see people fishing at those spots every-time I'm out.

The pike are getting super aggressive in the shallower water, I lost two chatterbaits, a shadow rap, and two jigs yesterday. Won't forget steel leaders again.

I have a question for you Michigan guys, I'm heading to lake Leelanau for a family vacation first week of June. Are there any largemouth in Leelanau? I have little experience with lake smallies, and was hoping I could tangle with some largies if I can't figure out the smallmouth. Any tips would be appreciated. I also wouldn't mind taking the kid out and have him reel in some bluegill. thanks

Best 1 fish day ever. My wife my son and I  went to Harley ensign to fish, after a little while my son started getting bored like any 5 yr old would. So I  put on a chatterbait I  let him pick the color (white) and started casting and held the pole and let him reel, he thought the pole shaking was so cool. Then it stopped I thought he was reeling too slow and got it stuck in the rocks. So I  have him back up and I  give a little  tugg and the line starts moving to the right pole, starts bending, and before I  could turn to my son. He's running and yelling mommy we need the net. 29 inch pike the rest of the day was me and daddy got a big fish.

Ended up going to Bass Lake instead of Arbutus. Wow, is it a lake out of my comfort zone. Zero cover, little structure, and super clear. I'm used to dirty, heavy cover, etc...

But put my limited smallie knowledge to work and landed a few in the 2hrs we were there. I was using a 2k Jigs Power Lock jig head with a Havoc Grass Pig Jr.

Yes, it's the one up close to Traverse City. I caught a dink LMB too but mostly SM. So clear, it was a new experience for me. I'm used to 5ft clarity max. I easily had 10-12ft clarity on Bass Lake. Fun to fish new waters and test knowledge.

Hey new guy here in Kalamazoo. I'm just getting back into fishing after about 10 years off. Just bought a summer home on Fine Lake in southern Barry county that really reintroduced me to bass fishing. Only caught a couple large mouth last weekend as it was my first outing on the lake. Can't wait to spend my weekends on the water again!

It's always fun to see them light up. Last year we were fishing off a bridge into a "river" and my wife broke off so I was at the truck tying a new hook on. My 6 year old son grabbed my bait caster and made a cast without me knowing. Then all I hear is "I got one I got one"! To my surprise here he is with my rod reeling in a smallmouth! He managed the bait caster pretty well a little nest but not too bad. The rest of the night he was strutting around thinking he was cool.

Water is way up at Kensington and pretty dirty. Going to get out this weekend and see how many glides and Magdrafts I can feed to the Pike. Running out of time to find a 5 or 6 before prespawn ends.
