If I had to pick just one color toad it'd be white.

Same here. As for lures that are good during the spawn, I like to use a 4" senko or a zoom speed craw. Texas rigged weightless.

White or black. In my opinion I don't think anything silhouettes better than those two colors. Having to choose between the two, I would have to buck the trend above where white is prevailing, and argue in favor of black. White comes in a close second, but I think black works all the time whereas white works the great majority of the time.

If held to one color only I would have to go with black. As of now its been the most productive color for me. If you're buying toads look into buying dedicated hooks. Stanley's double take hooks in a 4/0 size are killer when used with Zoom toads.

If I had 2 colors I'd have white and watermelon.

Only one color and I'd go with white.

I think one thing you should consider is your water color. I mean in muddy water a black frog will show up better on top than a white frog in my opinion. Just something for you to consider.

Ideal is white, black, and chart. 99% of the conditions can be handled by black and white.

If it's one color I'd go black. They can pick it up pretty easily in every condition including at night.

Green pumkin back with pearl belly is the original color that I started with 12 years ago and it still works.

White would be my recommendation. If you are targeting soft platics frogs you could also pick up Ribbits https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-FROGS.html?from=basres

Both Ribbets and Horney toads work. For another color choice would be Pumpkin Seed or a Dark Green. The trade off I find between Horney Toad and Ribbit is that Horney Toads last longer and Ribbits I find have a better Garlic scent

I use Stanley Ribbits now, but I used to use horny toads................I kept/keep the color selections simple for both of them. Black, green pumpkin/white belly, and green pumpkin/ chart. belly...........I think Stanley calls that color "Bullfrog" and Zoom calls it the same.

Another vote for black or white.  White if I had only one choice.

As for a spawn bait ... I love throwing a finesse tube and drag them on beds. :)
