Jackall cover craw

Featured Replies

I really like these baits, but jesus there so exspensive! I rig them bakwards so they fall back into the same area. Does anyone know of a similiar cheaper product?

Iaconelli tried to design a bait in the Havoc line called the Back Slide that tried to get the "fall away from you" action but reviews on that thing were mixed.  One thing you might want to try is putting a nail weight on the end of a lure, say a stickbait, to get it to fall away from you, though you might need to experiment with different plastics and nail placement.  I'd look for a lure that has some kind of flat flat plane that might give some resistance on the fall in the water (maybe a Strike King Ocho?).

Yep, problem with that imo, is that any added weight throws off the fall rate i like. These sponsered guys got it made with all there free ****, lol

The other cool lures like that rig reverse I can think of is the Gary Yamamoto FAT IKA.  They're quiet expensive at 8 buck with 10 in a pack.

+1 on the IKA and there's some really good information here from Road Warrior and others if you search the topic. The cover craw does seem a bit expensive at $1 per, but I have a feeling they'll be selling a lot more of them after Mercer's show. If nothing else you can just stock up on them during the 15-20% off sales to lessen the blow a bit.

X2 on the Ika, which seems to have a little more action on the fall.  Both are fun to throw, especially as we look forward to spring...
