Smaller Alabama rig setup?

Featured Replies

Booyah boo rig. make sure your lure is heavier than the head or it'll turn in flight and the line will constantly get tangled around the head. Even the snapping it before rig hits the water trick doesn't help much. 1/4 oz head should be perfect for most applications.

I just picked one up . Havent used it yet . I put on  a Rattlin Hot Spot as the main lure . Have you tried a lipless on the boo rig ?

I've run both lipless and shallow running cranks along with a paddle tailswimbait on a jig head. It's a great way to get a smaller bait deep.

I haven't tried a lipless on it, but that's how bill dance used it when I first seen the lure. He was tearing them up with it as usual. Lol

Were I to ever cast an umbrella, it would have little or no weight on the "head", heck, it wouldn't even have a head.

yep, use some skip gap hooks and swimbait of choice and can fish it in some much thicker cover than usual and keep it up higher in the water column

Picasso has a "Jr." rig that I like.  The head is foam, very light, and mainly serves as a rudder.

The couch. If I gotta throw that thing.............in any fashion or size to catch fish, I am going home to take a nap.

Flash Mob Jr, Calcutta TE200GT, Buckeye 1/8th Light Wire Jigheads, 2.8 inch Keitech Swing Impact Fats thrown on Megabass Orochi X4 Destroyer F6-72X4 with 15lb Berkley 100% Fluorocarbon.

Flash Mob Jr (willow leaf), 2 1/16 or 1/8oz dummy heads on Big Bite 3" Shad baits, 3 Kietech Swing Impact 3.5 or 4" on 1/8 Kietech 2/0 or 3/0 Tungsten heads.  Rod, I use a BPS MH 7'6" Crankin Stick (older model) with a Carbonlite 5:4.1 reel with 30lb braid with 20lb mono leader.  The Crankin stick gives me enough to cast the rig but the softeness of it keeps me from pulling the ligher wire hooks out of the fish or straightening them out.
