That may be the definition of "oxymoron".

I know these are characteristics of flouro but I need something that doesn't sink as fast. I need it for shallow crankbaits

I have one of those spools of 6# I scored for $10. Surprisingly it doesn't have much stretch! Pretty good line.

I assume this line is no longer made????

OP.  Check out Spiderwire's Ultracast Ultimate Mono.  A friend tells me it is the best mono he has ever used.  I've got some 12# to try.  My problem is I'm not sure which reel I put it on.  :annoyed1:

Define "low stretch".  Flouro also doesn't sink that fast. But no mono or FC line could ever really be called low stretch especially if compared to braid.

I use trilene and sufix siege.  personally I dont think either one stretches very much

Fluorocarbon sinking shouldn't make shallow cranks run deeper. That has more to do with line diameter and rod position. However Fluorocarbon isn't usually low stretch. If you must have low stretch, braid is a good option for shallow cranking, especially around grass.

Blackwater Toray BAWO polyimde mono and Sunline Armilo Defier Nylon mono are both premium lines that meet your needs.

Stren Magnaflex! Man, I miss that stuff!

I started using Spiderwire Ultimate Mono, it has a thin diameter and was advertised as the lowest stretch mono on the market. After using 6lb, 8lb, 10lb, and 14lb line last year I can say without a doubt it is my line of choice anymore. I use Berkley Big Game on my cranking rods but spinnerbait, chatterbait, and bottom contact baits all have the Spiderwire Ultracast Ultimate mono on. The pros are that the line diameter per strength rating is great and it is very low stretch with fantastic abrasion resistance. The cons to it are that it acts like fluorocarbon in that you need to give it 2 spritzes of KVD line and lure conditioner after is has been on your reel for a week or so. I can deal with the memory because the line and lure conditioner works well but some may not like the memory but if you want low stretch this is the real deal.

Stumbled across an old spool and tried it.  Found it to be very mono-like.

Great knot & abrasion strength, Solid diameter to strength ratio and perhaps a little less stretch especially in the 17 lb and up.

Bulk spools were very reasonably priced - so I change it Often, which for me, is the only way to go with mono.

Used it exclusively in Mexico - worked well.

I have been using a brand called sakuma for over a year now, and it is my favorite monofilament I ever used. Prior to that it used to be momoi and yozuri. It doesn't feel like your typical mono either. It's soft, supple, and line memory has never been an issue. The best way I can describe it is that it's floss like. And because of that likeness, it's very easy to tie. I don't even lube it. I think you'll like it.

DSG : Sufix Super 21 - Designed to have up to 40% less stretch than other comparable mono lines .
