What color of big game line should I get? Clear? I fish muddy water. Thanks

I have some slightly stained and some muddy here and like the Coastal Brown. I never really gave a crud what color because I really think the bait presentation is what the fish key in on but hey if your buying might not hurt to pick a color you can see if you need to line watch, or a color that will blend into the water if you think fish really have a habit of line watching. 

Whatever you want, they won't see it in muddy water. I use both clear and low vis green.

I've recently switched to Big Game and I'm loving it. I always thought it was catfish line but it's some good stuff. I've got some in clear and some in solar collector which is high viz for line watching, which would be perfect for muddy water. I bought 15lb, but could easily go down in size. 15lb will bend hooks before breaking.

I've never been convinced that the fish care about line color, at least not in the water I fish.  I buy different pound test line in different colors so I can identify it.  If it's low vis green I know it's big game 12# if it's clear I know it's 15# big game.  It just helps me keep things straight I can tell what line is on what reel even from across the boat.  No need to look at the line and try to guess based on diameter.

i just use clear...  i don't think it matters at all, but i can usually find the clear at walmart no problem.

Doesn´t matter. I have: clear, smoke & green, mainly to differentiate the lb test by just looking at the line without having to look at the sticker on the underside of the reel foot:

Clear: 10 lb test

Smoke: 12 lb test

Green: 15 lb test

12 lb green for crank baits.

I pretty much stick with green. sometimes use clear for a leader when carolina rigging.

"Muddy water".  There is no downside and only upside to using hi vis yellow.   I've caught a ton.  Nice watching the line swim off. 

I like fishing line topics,  even if it has been beat to death, because everybody has to use fishing line and every body has their opinions.  I like Stren mono Clear/blue fluorescent.  I do have braid on a couple of reels: Power Pro yellow on one and green on the other.  I like to see my line.  I was fishing in my canoe and a bass boat was about 100 yards away and I could see his line.  Very high vis yellow, I mean it was like it had electricity running through it.  He was pitching jigs.  When he got close I asked him about his line and he said it  was 30lb mono.  I asked about the high visibility and he said, "do you think the fish care about the color of your line; I am looking for a reaction strike and the bass don't have time to see the line nor do they care."  I think there is  enough fishing line floating in the water or hung on the bottom that fish may come to think it is part of the natural landscape.

I'd use the clear so YOU can see it. I have clear on a couple rods and I fish stained water. I also have low-vis Trilene XL on one rod, just trying to use it up. It gets really difficult to see.
